In short: Great race, great weather!!
In full: Brilliant atmosphere, helped along by the brilliant weather, everything was well organised from registration to finish.

The route was challenging in places (esp the hill just before the finish!) The goody bag was good value with a nice medal, t-shirt, isotonic drink and candy :-))

My only little issue was that the final straight bit with about .5 mile to go was blocked up with non runners enjoying the park, they didnt appreciate we were trying to finish the race and I did come across two men who didn't like me trying to get round them, the dogs and the cyclist and stay on the path. Maybe some way of roping off a runner lane next year?? Wouldn't stop me doing the race again though

Good communication from Shane pre and post race. Great action photos from Lynn.

In short: Well organised, great support, nightmare hills :-)
In full: Well organised race from beginning to end, marshalls all over the place, great water / toilet stops. The volunteers at every stop encouraged you all the way which left me smiling through every one.

The views going into (and out) of Wales were magical. The support from the villagers felt continuous and due to having your name printed on your number was made personal all the way through.

My first marathon and one I would do again. The only nightmare was the hills at the end but again the marshalls and the availability of positions for supporters got me through.

The longsleeved tshirt was great and one I can wear again, goodie bag was top. I am still aching but I can't fault this race!

In short: Everything that could be controlled went well... same about the weather!
In full: Extremely well organised race, I knew exactly where I should have been etc. The course was well marked out with numerous friendly marshalls and police along the route. There were ambulance patrols on bikes and numerous helpers at the finish to ensure you received your medal, water, banana and optional eccles cake! I even recieved a well earned glass of Coca Cola later on.

I expected the route to be a pain with the roads not being closed but due to the marshalls and the police this wasn't a problem at all. Water stations were announced in advance so you could prepare for them and the helpers on these stations were more than helpful.

The only problem was the weather, hail at the start, torrential rain, showers from the sea and a truly horrendous in ya face wind!

Got my pb but could have done better if not for the wind but I think you take it into account on the coastal runs.

All the runners bonded over the weather and would def enter it again :-)

Well Done

In short: Great PB potential race
In full: Great race for a PB, nice flat route, bit hairy going down the by pass for miles 3/4 but the drivers seemed considerate. Good water stations and well signed and marshalled.

The start around the running track meant the start was faster than I wanted but then again finishing off around the running track meant a fully supported sprint finish on a bouncy surface.
The organisation was top, with a full buffet and hot/cold drinks provided along with a medal.
The presentation was concluded in good time after the race.
The only slight I thought I could put was the rain but even that pulled back into perfect running weather!

Really good race, def putting in for next year!

Well done LMAC :-)

In short: Great atmosphere, a good laugh, great run :-)
In full: The run was held in fancy dress with couples "handcuffed" together! The atmosphere was fun from the start. I was worried that it would be a bit "clubby" but everyone was more than welcoming and there was no feeling of being an outsider. The park was beautiful, the weather was kind, the organisation was good. There were plenty of marshalls to ensure you were on track and to support you on the way round. The water provided at the finish was welcome as the finish was minutes away from the start.

Would try out another stockport harriers race again.

In short: MMM..that hill at the end!!
In full: The organisation seemed a little haphazard as I had never done the race before. The last mile consisted of a steep hill and two u turns so took out the ability for a sprint finish. Due to the u turn for the finish as you approached the last 200 yards you had to run through all the finished runners and spectators. At first glance you would presume this was the finish line and then realise you have a further 1-2 mins further to run... Not the best. Would try it again with the knowlegde of what I was getting myself into! :)

In short: Great event, Only bad thing could be the weather!!!
In full: I have entered this a few times now and feel really positive about the whole idea of parkrun. It isn't run as a race as such on the day but I did find myself trawling through the results email checking out my competition!!
Lovely course... not bad to run even in heavy rain :)
Have always received a friendly reception at Heatona nd would recommend it to others espically beginners.

In short: No mile markers and shirt n water stations
In full: This was my first half marathon distance and I would say it was one to avoid for slower runners (I came in in 2:14) The run at the back of the field was lonely with spectators diverting cars from the course and marchalls being far apart. My last min decision to run with my nike plus was a good one as it was my only hint as to distance covered. The wind, rain, blazing sun and totally undulating course made it a hard run but at least it has room for improvement for its second year
