In short: Extremely well organised, great marshalls, flat as a pancake, fantastic stadium finish and goodie bag, medal, techy top and brownie at the end!
In full: The only thing I can fault with this race is it's sheer flatness over 13 miles makes it a bit boring as there are times that all you can see is a flat road stretching in front of you for miles. But everything else is brilliant and it's fantastic PB potential.

In short: Tough hills but enjoyed it
In full: I enjoyed this race though found the hills quite tough. Bit disappointed in the marshalls on the course, the vast majority were just stood there, no encouragement. Mix of scenery - lovely parks, but some grim estate areas. Organisation good and nice toilets as far as port a loos go! Got a pb so really pleased with that and would do it again.

In short: First time and really enjoyed it.
In full: I'd perhaps have to disagree with the 'jog leader' that there were no hills - a large proportion of the first 5k was up hill - but they were only small ones for Huddersfield I suppose. Despite this I was really pleased with my time. Great Ron Hill tech t-shirt at the end and only £7 (and no surcharge for entering on the day). Very friendly atmosphere with a wide range of abilities. Will definitely do this one again. My only small criticism is that when you're approaching the track at the end it's not obvious where to go. There were plenty of marshalls on the route but one wouldn't have gone a miss here to point you in the right direction. Only a very small thing though and didn't detract from my enjoyment. Thanks Kirklees!

In short: Really fab!
In full: Tough course (very steep hill) but fantastic weather, excellent hightlighting of potential trip hazards, best marshalls ever, weighty goody bag with nice tshirt. Will definitely do it again. I'd only mark down on beginner friendliness because of the terrain - if this doesn't put you off then go for it!

In short: Really enjoyable, great PB
In full: Fab weather for this race - lovely sunshine and only a bit of breeze. Roads closed to cars which was great but a bit scary that the wheelchairs (preceded by police outrider) had to cut through / across runners at one point which was a bit scary. If course returns to last years once roadworks are done this wont occur again. Start line very obvious this time - better than last year. Plenty of water and a nice t-shirt at the end. Topped off by knocking over 5 mins off prev best.

In short: Everything fantastic!
In full: This is the hardest, but best race I have done. Certainly the most encouraging marshalls, nice long sleeved shirt (that fits!) and an amazing goody bag full of chocky bars (and tea bags!)

Actually achieved a PB by a couple of mins, but that's because I've come on a lot since I last did a 10 mile race, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't normally be a PB course.

I've said only maybe to doing it again as I had to walk up a lot of the 2 biggest hills and I really don't like walking in races, but no doubt I'll have forgotten that when it comes to signing up next year, so the maybe is likely to become a yes.

Well done everyone involved in organising this race, it's a credit to you.

In short: Enjoyed it much more than last year!
In full: Really enjoyed the race this year although I can't remember seeing or hearing the band! Great scenery but a clap or comment from may of the marshalls went amiss. Thanks to those that did. Will definately do this one again, preferred the new course and for the first time ever got a t-shirt that fits!

In short: Special race as my home town
In full: First time I've done this race, only my second 10k. Finished 2.5 mins quicker than last time, so pleased with PB. New t-shirts this year were available, but only in some sizes (supply fault apparently). Passes within around 0.5 miles of my house and runs past the lovely church in St John's, the only nice bit of scenery to be honest. Will do it again next year, will hope for better weather!

In short: Fantastic morning
In full: Perfect for my first half. Fantastic, encouraging marshalls, great sweater (which actaully fits!), 15 mins faster than my hoped-for time. Couldnt fault it.

In short: Found it challenging, but a first 10k experience for me
In full: The uphill bits were much harder than I expected, but then it was my first 10k and before today I'd only run 5 miles.
There wasn't an obvious start and finish point and I wondered round a bit to find my t-shirt (which is great!)
We got there early and did not have a problem with either parking or toilet facilities.
The marshalls were fantastic and very encouraging, especially near the end where I was struggling a bit.
PB for me as first time, not sure for others, maybe if you don't find the hills a problem.
Will definately be trying this one again next year.
