In short: Great organisation & scenery to enjoy whilst you take on the hills!
In full: Fantastic organisation and the marshalls on course were amongst the best I've encountered at any race. There's plenty of nice scenery to take in whilst you're zipping along the lanes but save a bit for the hills which are tough. 1st time I've done this race and I'd really recommend it. And finally, to the marshall at c.9miles who thanked me for travelling to the race, you're very welcome, it was a pleasure!

In short: Ruined by the post race hike!
In full: Other than the start, this isn't a city marathon and is an out and back along an undulating coast road and apart from the pockets of very vocal support (thank you!), it was pretty dispiriting at times. Nice medal & t-shirt though to enjoy at the finish though. The post race organisation was a joke, to ask people who've run a marathon to walk 15 minutes to collect bags and change and then get them to walk another 30 to 40 minutes to get a shuttle bus is just plain inconsiderate! Unfortunately this really took the edge off the day for me and has left me feeling like 'I've been there, done that.'

In short: It's certainly a challenge but a thoroughly enjoyable one!
In full: Many thanks to everyone involved in organising this event, I thoroughly enjoyed the 20 miles! The views were great, the weather was ideal and the course threw up a real test of hills and terrain. The only suggestion would be switching the detailed directions for a map which has to be easier to read when you're running.

In short: Still one of my favourite races!
In full: Looking at some of the other reviews proves you can't please everyone, but I thought the event was great AGAIN! I ran a PB by 8 minutes and yes it took a while to get in and out of Portsmouth but this is the country's biggest 10 mile race! What do people expect? Thanks to the people of Portsmouth for cheering everyone on in the rain!

In short: Great race to match the scenery
In full: I think the organisers deserve real credit here for putting in a great plan to cope with the postal strike and not leaving people to queue for ages. It seemed like there was an army of encouraging marshalls and friendly helpers to make this event run as well as it seemed to. I didn't have any problems with the car park so maybe it just depends on when you leave.
In summary, a lovely run and great scenery but with one tough hill to watch out for!

In short: Second time at this event and remains my favourite race of the year!
In full: I managed to break my PB by 2 minutes despite the weather and the walkers in front of me in the White wave. I more than happy if people want to walk the course, but shouldn't they either start last or a few minutes in front of everyone else?

Anyway, a great event despite the weather and fantastic to see so many people out cheering in the rain!

In short: Just too many people on narrow paths
In full: It's well organised to a point, but why were there people starting at the front only to be walking or plodding withing the 1st km?
