In short: Very well organised local race In full: After the gale force winds and driving rain of last year I was back again and once again the event organisation didn't disappoint. Date of review: April 14, 2013

In short: One of my favourites and good to see it still going strong. In full: Well organised event and a bargain at £8 for an accurately measured course with a good mix of club runners and not. The hill at 2K is challenging but once you are over it's downhill for the next 7K. Still would like to see something different to a medal for finishing as I have got hundreds of them and they all go in the bin (not really but I lost interest in medals many years ago). In short: Seriously tough.......and wet! In full: This was the final event in the 2012 Wiltshire Road Race League and I decided to target it as my first Half Marathon for five years. The course presented two particularly tough climbs and great views, lots of running water on the course but at least it didn't rain. I agree with the previous comment about the medal being a bit naff, and I have got hundreds of them so would appreciate something a little different, though the memory of weaving around ponies on the run will stay with me. Well signed and well marshaled, good facilities at the Race HQ including individual shower cubicles with own changing room - very nice. Date of review: November 29, 2012

In short: Atrocious conditions and loved every mile! In full: After 11-years of helping out with the organisation of this race it was good to actually run in it. I can see why it gets so many good reviews from local runners, though this year the conditions were the worst that the event had been held in and so the crossing of the River Frome was off the books, however much of the rest of the course was like running through a river - so much so that the event may need to be renamed as the River Run. In short: Good low key race In full: It didn't help that the recent rainfall had made the two off-road sections of this course quite boggy. Other quite a pleasant Sunday morning run. Date of review: October 14, 2012

In short: Good well organised race In full: This course is well capable of producing fast times and for me provided a good yard stick to measure my current fitness level against. My only criticism, was on finishing not being sure where to go after crossing the line and then finding that I had to limbo under a metal rail to receive medal & drink - but I am being picky. In short: An enjoyable Sunday morning trail run In full: Great for a Sunday morning training run; enjoyable sections following the river then some challenging uphill sections to get the quads burning. Good scenery too when I could draw the energy to raise my head up from looking at the ground. Date of review: September 30, 2012

In short: An enjoyable run through the country. In full: Not sure how this caters for "those looking to record a fast time racing through the Wiltshire countryside." as there were too many stiles and other obstacles to inhibit getting into any sort of stride pattern until reaching the Wilts & Berks canal. Notwithstanding it was an enjoyable run in the sun. Date of review: August 11, 2012
