In short: a friendly picturesque well organised race
In full: Plenty of marshals to guide through the lanes of Pewsey vale. Friendly atmosphere, great views, quaint villages, one hill at 3.5 ish wasn't so bad and a great run down the otherside, and scrumptious cakes.

In short: One of my favourites
In full: Will definitely do it again. Agreed start area was a bit of a guess about where to be. But did not detract from a lovely, friendly, well organised race. Great work by the marshalls and beautiful warm day.. what a great start to a Sunday. & a PB to boot!

In short: loved it
In full: Must say the local support and marshalling were fabulous.. thank you! I really liked this race, all traffic free and stunning scenery, with undulations and varied terrain for added interest. Loved it. Got there early so no problem parking.

In short: Well worth the travel up north for a hundred reasons
In full: The welcome from Campbeltown, the organisers and runners was phenomenal. I loved every minute; the wonderful landscape, the marshals support, and the fantastic pipers and band at strategic points just made my emotions soar! I adored the beach run with the sun shimmering on the deep acqua blue sea, white surf.. I'll most definitely be back.

In short: Mud Mud Glorious Mud
In full: I was strangely exhilarated as I lurched through the finish and slid and stumbled to a halt at the queue for the t-shirt and cup. Timings were irrelevant on this splendid occasion but I must say you slightly overdid the special effects. Was hail really necessary during the cloud burst? Not beaten, the camaraderie and atmosphere on the course was extra-special and those marshals were simply marvellous (albeit with a slight masochistic tendency to agree to stand there and take the biblical drenching as the runners err staggerers slid unnervingly towards them.

Only suggestion as said before - pls provide information about distance from car park to start. It's a good warm up - as long as you know.

I loved the course, and rather insanely took a twisted pleasure in that weather and mud, we had great marshals and a terrific race.

- ah ha that really put us in the moment.

In short: Fantastic First Marathon!!
In full: First timer in the bringing up the rear, I loved every minute. Support from locals and Macmillan team and the marshalls & volunteers was second to none. I will definitely recommend it. Heat wasn't an a problem (love it) ok missing water at some stations wasn't good but overall the organisation was great and WHAT a finish - fabulous roaring support at the stadium.. I'll be back

In short: Some pleasant scenery, good training and a PB
In full: A few underpasses don't make an undulating/hilly race -I'd say predominantly flat.. try the Chesterfield Sprire 10 for a hilly race (its fab). Marshals great. I saw no problems with the organisation. And a pb in spite of the force 9 gales. Good race.
