In short: Great marshalls
In full: Depsite the very wet weather I enjoyed myself and got a big pb. Didnt find the hills too bad, for every up there was a down. Marshalls did a great job. Thought it started a couple of minutes early, although I was quite happy with this as was getting cold and wet waiting. Last 300 metres muddy and slippy, might have been better on the road as could have been dangerous. Overall, will definalty do again and in nicer weather would have been a very enjoyable country run.

In short: Tough but fantastic!
In full: Considering the very small field this was a really special race. Must have taken a lot of organisation (and some very fit organisers!) with all the signs and marshalls at the top of some very big hills. Fantastic scenery from the tallest points, must go back up there sometime to appreciate it more. Water station just where it was needed and great encouragement from both marshalls and competitors. Nice to have the finish on the flat around a field at the end which allowed something that resembled a sprint finish.

In short: Fantastic
In full: Travelled down from Birmingham for this for the second year running and it was even better than last year. Amazing support and atmosphere and getting a pb was the perfect end to a perfect day. Will be back again next year.

In short: Fantastic event
In full: This was a really great event, uplifting atmosphere both at the start and finish and all around the course. Not as good for pb potential as I was expcting with stretches on the grass at the start, finish and half way and 2 long hills, and that was before the heat!! Children all the way round with hose pipes and water pistols and frequent water stations were very welcome. My only criticism would be having to turn up two and a half hours before to collect my number, by the time the start finally arrived I was feeling a bit like my motivation had passed and I would rather be sitting with the spectators eating ice cream :-)

In short: Excellent organisation and atmosphere
In full: For my first half and event of this size I found it a great experience. Encouragement all the way and frequent water stations were a real help in the hot conditions. Hillier than I had expected but loved the flat finish and didnt find the greenway as psychologically tough as I had heard it could be. Will definalty be nack next year.

In short: Freezing but fantastic
In full: After doing the suicide 6 in November I was ready for a water crossing or two but had not prepared myself for the suprises that this had to offer! Each water crossing got deeper and deeper before the final one that was up to my neck....before I fell in. At certain points I felt so cold that wasnt enoying it but the encouragement from marshalls and other competitors was amazing and kept me going. Great rock too!!!

In short: Fast and friendly
In full: After initial problems with organisation and numbers not appearing till a few days before everything was fine on the day. Great support especially at the end of the first lap and finish. The flattest race I have ever done with a really good stretch to the finish. I personally like two lap courses so this wasnt an issue for me. Entry was on the steep side but would do it again for the course and in terms of post race mementos etc, could have been better for the money but I've had worse. Overall I had a great day.
