In short: Well organised, shame about the parking
In full: Disappointing to hear that the parking problems I experienced last year had still not been resolved. It's quite obvious that area available are not large enough and the marshalls aren't able to direct people to other areas. That aside, it's a well organised race, with plenty of water stations and good support all around. Course is scenic in places and the open road stretches are fine. Most drivers seemed polite. I still can't work out why some runners have to run three abreast along a busy road!

In short: A tough but friendly race
In full: Improvements in signage and a larger field than last year made this a more enjoyable experience.Would be good if the route could exclude Thamesmead and the uninspiring 3 mile stretch down to Erith. Helps to run with a group, rather than on your own.Surprising how much of the route I remembered from the previous year and it meant a lot less stop and start.Friendly marshalls and organisers.

In short: Friendly and well organised lap marathon
In full: According to the programme I was the only local runner!A very friendly 40 lap marathon or 6 hour ultra around the town park. The organisation was brilliant and with a very small field due to regulations etc, everybody was so friendly. Sid, the race organiser even arranged for my attractive lap counter to come home with me afterwards and make my lunch, well she was my girlfriend!

In short: Tough, Tough, Tough
In full: A tough, tough, tough challenge that sadly I failed this year but one I will succeed in next year. Had to DNF at 21.5 miles because I was soaked and very, very cold. I was having trouble moving my fingers and as one of the slower runers, had to walk the long hard hills. Next year I will train on longer, steeper hills, bring a rain proof jacket and a whole selection of running gear.A massive thanks to the organisers and to the marshalls, who were brilliant in the awful weather conditions. When I retired from the race I knew it was the sensible thing to do and I wasn't too disappointed at the time. Now, 2 days later I feel very p**sed off but determined for next year.

In short: A perfect race
In full: Probably the best of the 17 marathons thatI've run. I hope if they allow more people in next year it won't spoil the event, but then I prefer small friendly marathons. Personally I don't know how any marathon could be better than this one.

In short: Friendly and well organised
In full: A friendly and well organised marathon. A little more communication needed beforehand concerning, tee shirts, let baggage etc.
Scenic course and sufficient marshalls, water stations etc. Couldn't work out why the race didn't start and finish at the Sports Centre but I expect there's a good reason for it! Sad to hear that a competitor collapsed and died on the course.

In short: A well organised and friendly event, with plenty of support.
In full: Well organised marathon on a flat course. Lots of support en route, especially at the Fetchpoint!Great to run the final 300 metres around the running track with people cheering you on. Good facilities at the stadium.Hope it's on again next year.
