In short: A well organised off road marathon
In full: This was my first off road marathon, which I found challenging but the beautiful scenery helped to offset the slog up and down the never ending hills.
The marshalling was excellent at the start and finish, as well as round the course. They were encouraging and helpful, ensuring nobody went the wrong way. Parking at the finish was no problem, and the coaches from the finish to the start were all lined up ready to go in good time.
I will definitely run this one again, and as I now know what to expect, will hopefully run it quicker.

In short: A very well organised race, with a very friendly atmosphere
In full: My first time for this race and the fastest time for 5 years.

Well organised, friendly and helpful Marshalls who did their best to control impatient motorists who seemed to think runners shouldn't be "on their roads."

It was great finishing on the running track, which enabled us to gain a few seconds in a sprint finish. I will certainly be back next year. Keep up the good work Salisbury RC and thanks for the nice T Shirt.

In short: A very well organised race, with a very friendly atmosphere
In full: My first entry for the 20 mile race and really enjoyed it. I wasn't put off by the fact that there were two circuits, and found the second 10 easier than the first. Probably due to sensible pacing.

No problems with the toilet facilities which were adequate. The Marshalls were very friendly and encouraging, and the drinks stations were situated at just the right places.

A generous goody bag, but a bit disappointed that there was no engraved wine glass, as had been received by running friends in the past.

I suggest that the race organisers make runners aware, in their race pack, that they should allow extra time, in case the level crossing gates are down. This does cause a long tail back of cars, and as there is a mile walk to the start from the MoD car park, late arrivals could well miss the start.

In short: A great race, despite appalling weather
In full: My 12th running of this race, and the route seemed to have changed a lot since my last running of it in 2004.

The atrocious weather failed to dampen the spirits of the runners, and personally, I ran several minutes quicker than expected.

Top marks for the hardy marshalls who stood out in the wind and rain for hours, and cheerfully encouraged us on our way.

It would have been a good idea to have put the banana, cerial bar, and water bottle in a goody bag, instead of having to carry them and then remove the chip without dropping eveything.

Car parking was efficient, and no problems in the getaway. My only slight complaint is that the signage to the runners car park was not very clear, and the boards could have been larger.

In short: A friendly local race.
In full: A record entry and good turn out considering the exceptionally high temperature. A fairly quick outward route, with a more uphill return.
The start was delayed by 4 minutes, due to the time taken for runners to collect their numbers and write medical information on the reverse.
I was disappointed to see many runners wearing iPods, despite the entry instructions stating that they were not allowed.

In short: A nice scenic local race
In full: This is a special race which caters for all abilities. The organisation is always first class, with cheerful, knowledgeable, encouraging Marshalls. Parking is superb, with no problems getting in or out.

Results and official photos are on the Hardley Web already.

Conditions were ideal and there was no sign of the threatened rain, or possible hail and thunder.

In short: A very well organised local race
In full: I missed the last 2 years of this race and noticed the route had changed. There were lots of narrow, quiet lanes, virtually traffic free.

The Marshalls were very friendly and encouraging as always, and the drinks stations were ideally placed.

This race is unusual these days, as there were more club runners than unattached. Nevertheless, the race was friendly, and I hope it will be staged for many more years.

The use of Sainsbury's overfolw car park was very useful, as the school car park always fills up early.

In short: A friendly race on quiet country roads with very little traffic
In full: A mildly challenging run, with a fast outwards and more hilly second 5k. The start was much better this year with the Marshalls walking us down to the start, and very little delay before the off. Much better than the previous 2 years chaotic starts. Friendly encouraging Marshals and a nice atmosphere. I certainly hope to run again next year.

In short: Very well organised, off road race.
In full: A bit cooler this year, which made for a more enjoyable race. The Marshalls were,as usual, excellent and very encouraging. There were also more toilets, which had always been a problem in previous years. This was my 20th entry and I hope to run many more.

In short: A well organised race, as usual.
In full: This race was held on the hottest day of the year, as was last years!

I was impressed with the high number of runners who turned up, as I had expected many "to give it a miss."
I think the course was slightly different from last year, but relatively traffic free.
I was more than 2 mins. faster than last year, and did not find the heat too much of a problem.
I am now looking forward to the 10 mile later in the year.
The whiskey tumbler was a nice touch at the finish, and a nice change from the usual medal.
