In short: One to enter every year! In full: Fantastic event and it lived up to the high praise from last years entrants! Thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful route that had everything. Trail running is going to be challenging and the variety is to be expected. That is what makes it! The marshalling was superb! I finished in pouring rain and the Tea and Cake really hit the spot! I also chatted away under their shelter as the rain got harder! Tea shirt, medal and bandana and as many bananas as you could wish for! Top run in my opinion. Date of review: September 19, 2011

In short: Quality Race and Great Organisation In full: We did the 42k and it was just so enjoyable. Many thanks to the very patient marshall from the Rotary Club who manned the water stations. I felt sorry for them as a few runners got lost and missed a few markers and moaned too much at the wrong people. Running this event is challenging, forget the times and enjoy the scenery. Saying that I only had two very minor excursions and finished with 26.5 on the Garmin. The way markers could be less ambiguous if an LDWA style route description were provided? Overall a brilliant day made even better by the food and village atmosphere at the start and finish! Date of review: July 10, 2011

In short: Incredible Iconic Istead and Isfield! What a run and brilliant marshalls! In full: This has to be done. Truly outstanding. The marshalls and the scenery make this one shine out! I cannot criticise anything but I'll have to come back as the race photographer completely missed myself and the group of runners around me who finished in about the 2 hr 50's. Probably a blessing in disguise! Date of review: June 20, 2011

In short: This is a Jewel of a race! In full: People just dont seem to be getting it! This race is superb and in beautiful scenery with plenty of challenging variation in terrain! Combine this with exceptional organisation and great marshalling it gives the runner a real sense of achievement and feel good factor at the finish! I felt the changes to the race deserved much better support for Lingfield Runners. All were an improvement. The HQ was terrific, cakes and tea heaven sent! The course retained the trtemendous Dry Hill character with a quality start and finish and an interesting additional undulating loop at mile 7-8. Date of review: September 27, 2010

In short: I really liked this event! In full: Having done quite a few 10k's I was very pleased to say that this new race (2 nd year) organised by local conservation organisation, did a great job, and the route was both very picturesque and challenging. Last year my children did the 2k but this year was Dad's turn and I tackled the 10k route. Registration on the day was no problem and I would guess it attracted about 300? The only problem was the late arrival of the portaloos which may have affected some? Otherwise evrything was good and the location in Royal Parade gives the race a touch of village feel before diving off after the first k into woodland, steeped in history - Thomas Walsingham and Queen Victoria and all that. Running past huge ancient Oaks etc I was pleased that the organisers had managed to shorten the route from last year to a still, slightly long, 6.32 m on my watch and have listened to feedback and put out markers at every k. If this kind of attention to detail continues it will be a big favourite race in a few years! Lovely trophies to the top runners and T shirst to all finishers. Personally prefer a good quality medal but can handle good T shirt as was given, thanks! Could we have a list of finishing times for all runners next year? As it is not only the top 50 who want to know how they did? I would love to enter again so please feel proud of yourselves and keep it a regualar fixture! Lovely day, good fun and made good memories! In short: Terrific Trail , many thanks Harriers for another great day! In full: Welcoming and so friendly and very family orientated. Both of my sons helped out with the drinks and were made to feel very included whilst Dad was put through the mill out on the course! My 4th year, and my slowest... but I cant thank you enough! In short: Quality Race and Great Organisation In full: Maidstone Harriers were superb put on a great race. Legislate for the weather and bring the time to a 9 am start? I know it work well at the Dartford Half but then you have problems with people travelling and getting to an event which is very rural in this case, particularly difficult by public transport? Lets hope its a little cooler most years I think. Date of review: June 30, 2010
