In short: Loved the stadium finish In full: My 2nd marathon ever and I loved this race - excellent organisation from start to finish, great crowds (am sure the glorious sunshine encouraged many out to cheer us on), and a decent route (not the most scenic but some lovely parts). Ample drinks stations and I loved the stadium finish. Hope to be there next year. Date of review: May 7, 2013
In short: It wasn't all bad! In full: I was really surprised to read some many negative reviews of this race. I must have been very lucky, as I was unaware of all the problems the later arrivals encountered. We drove straight into the car park and parked right next to the start line. I didn't need to use the changing/ baggage areas so can't comment there, although the queues for the portaloos grew rapidly and I definitely think there could have been more. I do think there should have been a better organised start, with time markers to space out the runners better. Overall I really enjoyed this race, and was pleasantly surprised to see a completely different side to Milton Keynes. Definite PB potential, despite the wind. I also hear many struggled to get out of the car parks which is a shame. Hopefully these problems will be sorted next year.
In short: Beautiful scenery, lovely sunshine & speedy final mile In full: I feel like a child at a party for saying "what no goodie bag?" but for the entry fee it would have been nice to get more than a medal. Anyway, that aside, this was my 1st 1/2 and I really enjoyed it. Hills were killers, but the downhills were fun - beautiful scenery and sunshine too. Another grumble would be lack of loos at start, but all in all I had a great day. Date of review: March 5, 2006
In short: Excellent event - well organised, lovely location and good crowd! In full: Where else can you run alongside deer, rhino and lions? This was a really well organised race, suitable for experienced runners and beginners with a few hills but nothing too scary. I will definitely be back next year! Date of review: February 19, 2006
In short: Sunshine, beautiful scenery, sore legs! In full: My 1st 10k and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The start was delayed due to huge queues of traffic trying to get to the venue, but once in, the organisation was good and the route was fantastic. I think spectators would have liked more refreshments but for runners the conditions were perfect. Those hills are a bit painful though!! Date of review: October 2, 2005
