In short: Fine addition to the lakeland trail series
In full: Lovely scenic course and another great race in the lakeland trail series. Weather was kind on this occasion (unlike Coniston and Derwentwater). Hills were not too severe though it was tricky underfoot in places. Nice speedy downhill finish. Plenty of entertainment to keep the family occupied. Possibly a bit expensive due to no t-shirt, meal or goody bag. Free photo and kendal mint cake I suppose, but that's not much for close to £20.

In short: tough half marathon but great views from the top
In full: My 2nd attempt at this killer half marathon. I'm not sure what's worse, the steady climbs up to the Roaches or the brutal descents in the 2nd half. Killed my quads as it did last year but managed to keep running this time. Slick organisation and good support.

In short: friendly, well organised 3 lap race around the parks
In full: Well done to Tony and the rest of the Stockport Harriers for a well organised and friendly 10k race. My 2nd time and weather was much kinder this year. I like the start and finish at the track and the nice traffic free course. Even managed a pb and picked up a spot prize - perfect!

In short: My favourite half marathon.
In full: Absolutely cracking race. Brutal course with some serious climbs and fast descents. Great route along quiet country roads with fabulous views throughout. Plenty of drinks/sponge stations and good support from the marshalls and spectators. Weather was perfect and a nice pint of Theakstons in the village pub afterwards. What more could you ask for?

In short: another great event in the lakeland trail series
In full: My first time at Hawkshead and it was tough but enjoyable. Well organised event and a nice day out for all the family. Well marshalled and supported. Definitely back next year.

In short: unique trail race with steamboat trip to the start
In full: Fantastic trail race with pleasant steamboat cruise to get you to the start. Tougher than expected with some steep hills and very rocky in places. Lovely atmosphere and decent post race meal but no t-shirt.

In short: hilly half
In full: Very tough half with lots of climbs and a steep decent from the top. Mostly quiet country roads with great views. Good organisation, decent support and a nice T-shirt. Definitely back next year.

In short: flat and fast 4 lap course around Wythenshawe Park
In full: Great race on a lovely warm sunny Sunday morning. Good organisation, friendly marshalls and well manned water stations. Enjoyed the start and finish at the athletics track. I like the idea of 4 laps as it breaks the race up into chunks and helps you to pace yourself. I think the course is getting an unfair bashing for being dull - for an urban race it's not that bad - a fair chunk of the race is through the park, along tree-lined roads and around the athletics track. Decent T-shirt but no XL as usual.

In short: Delicious flapjack but where was the gravy?
In full: Superb trail race with great views. Mostly flat course with just a few undulations and a couple of short climbs. Conditions underfoot were quite reasonable considering the amount of rain recently. Mile markers would have helped my pacing - was very surprised to see the '400m to go' sign when I thought there was at least a mile left. Delicious flapjack at the finish but where was the gravy?

In short: friendly 10k race in Offerton's finest parks
In full: Top race. Three laps of the park, with a hill that seemed to get steeper each time, and some flooded/boggy bits due to torrential rain during the day. Great organisation and very friendly marshalls and runners.
