In short: A hard day but well worth it.
In full: Another brilliant day thanks to Marlborough RC. My 4th time at this classic event with fantastic views, friendly marshalls, Jaffa cakes & encouragement from all the friendly runners who picked me off as the run progressed. Navigation wise.....everything was superb until driving home & finding myself half way to Swindon instead of Hungerford Doh!!!

In short: Simply the best
In full: Another brilliant Gibbet has come & gone.
A big thanks to the marshalls for their cheerfulness & encouragement & not forgetting the drink station crews, timekeepers / recorders plus the Cake & Coffee team at the finish. Congratulations to the backroom team for their faultless organisation including the Police escort to the start.
A FANTASTIC EVENT THAT IS SECOND TO NONE.

In short: simply the best
In full: Slightly biased as this is my local run but can anyone honestly fault it.
Big well done for the police for the escort, I had my most enjoyable run in years even though age means running a PB is only a dream. The marshalls were as superb as usual and thanks to those who urged me on (that's all of them). Roll on 2012 & finish number 34.

In short: PERFECTION
In full: Back after a 2 years injured and did not realise how much I have missed this race.

Brilliant marshalls, some of whom turn out religously year after year.

This is what all races should be like

In short: The one to judge other events against
In full: After finishing 29 times in the last 31 years I finally clocked my first DNF. But then I saw the fantastic organisation in action. Dropped out at 13.5 miles after a brief impersonation of Jim Peters. A car was on hand in minutes to transport me to the finish.

Despite not making it to the line this year the course was made harder by the strongest head wind i can remember but the views were as superb as ever.

Back next year without fail.

In short: poor marshalling
In full: Have run this event many times before so knew about the narrow course but watching the marshalls being briefed minutes before the start was hardly inspiring. No good just standing there in a fluorescent bib, verbal warnings about bollards / narrow archways etc. would be helpful as you approach them (especially for first timers who may not have warmed up round the course) Also the lack of a marshall as you left the cathedral was dangerous, nearly took out a couple of tourists on the 2nd lap & an OAP on the last lap. Will be back but hope the safety side is improved next year.
