In short: Bloody cold
In full: Hadn't run this race before and was looking forward to it until this last week when the weather changed for the worse, temp gauge in car was showing -1 to -2 and we had a small amount of sleet whilst racing. Countryside was nice but wintery looking, roads were wet but not flooded, Organisation was good, the course enjoyable despite the weather so all in all a really good race.

In short: Oh i do like to be beside the seaside
In full: I decided to enter the Brighton Marathon as the London Marathon have changed the automatic 5 rejections rule. Entry was for 18000 but only 9000 ran on the day. I found the event enjoyable but atmosphere in places was patchy. Weather was great and support at start and along the sea front was superb (thanks everyone who turned out). Minor faults, the price is dearer than the London Marathon, I paid for the "pay and display" , parked up and waited along with many others at the "pay and display" sign in the carpark, after half an hour someone asked the parking volunteers if we were waiting in the right place but they did not know. Alas we were not and eventually had to exit the car park cross the road and walk down to the bus stop, and finally if you enter for 2013 you will have to collect your marathon pack from the Marathon exhibition on one of the 2 days before the race. But all in all a good race.

In full: I had'nt raced for a few years, but after this race i'm keen to keep it up. Not the greatest course (Olympic stadium) or not but very enjoyable. Not to many uphill bits which is good for the likes of me who have been away from running for a while and not bad for beginner's. Well organised, and a nice touch the free energy drink at the start for those that wanted it. All in all a good race and I would do it again.
