In short: it's a cracker In full: A GREAT BIG "THANKS". To all of the marshalls, and all the helpers at the sponge and water stations.A well organized race, weather a bit strange but spot on for running. This race did me a lot of damage last year, but put that to rest with a personal best this year...If Steve and Brian are reading this, "Thanks alot lads for your support and letting me tag along, Hope your legs arnt as sore as mine." Will be there next year definitely Date of review: April 7, 2008
In short: Hot,Hot,Hot....................... In full: Come on everybody, not hilly, just a few undulations to make it interesting. A well organised, well marshalled race that was let down right at the very end by too many people being squeezed into to small a finishing area, come on Torbay, you had the rest of the green and the road all the way to the Harbour if you wanted it.But that said everybody put in a lot of effort to makesure that us the runners were well looked after, thank you all. A special mention to the Scouts who once again did everybody proud. All in all,a great value race, really nice dated medal+t shirt, but next year please, please, please. Bottled water,we'll all, gladly pay a bit extra. Honest..............just try running and drinking from a cup, you'll see. Date of review: June 26, 2006
In short: ish............... In full: Unless you know Plympton, the sign put out saying "race start". not very clear, only other moan no distance markers that i noticed.
A good run though, hills, and there were only two, were long but not over steep.Marshelling was good, with some awkward junctions to control. Nice and scenic down along the Plym Vally trail. Maybe next year the starter could be a little louder as most at the rear seemed not to hear the start, and were caught out slightly. Date of review: March 19, 2006
In short: windy In full: As my first marathon i have nothing to compare it to,but all in all a really GOOD DAY. Marshals were really good, and non biasd, offering encouragement to all,on what for them must have been a really cold day,a big thank you, and well done to you all. Shame about the wind, but all in all a good race, well organised, well marshaled, and well fed at the end. A big thank you also to the catering staff at the Hotel, who were rushed off their feet. And of course the Hotel for a fine venue. Hope to see you all next year. Date of review: March 12, 2006
In short: Flat,Fast Fantastic...................... In full: My first Half Marathon, so nothing to copare it to,Enjoyed the run immensley, plenty of people all around the course, even at that early hour on a Sunday. Agree with the unsecure(secure baggage area). Also 3 people handing out medals to 5.5 thousand, from a large serving hatch?.But all in all a fantastic day that i will remember for a long time. And a special thanks to the people of Cardiff, for being so friendly.See you next year for the marathon. Date of review: October 9, 2005
In short: a good firsttimer In full: A good firsttimers run, with a few gentle slopes but nothing to really worry any but the most out of condition runners. Facilities,(eg toilets and carparking quite good, and the marshalls on the course did a splendid job. Also nice to see the local boy scouts involved handing out drinks, and picking up the empty cups. Although several people did mention that on the runners world website a medal was mentioned but didn't materialise on the day. Date of review: October 9, 2005
In short: deceptive, could catch you out In full: only my second 10k race, as i have only been running for a few months,a little bit tougher than first seems, well organized, and very well marshalled. Plus the added bonus of a car boot sale to keep the other half occupied while i was running, and i achieved a personal best.(47.48) Date of review: August 18, 2005
