In short: I thought this was supposed to be EASIER than Leek !!
In full: Maybe I just had a bad day, 7 or 8 mins of my usual time, even for an undulating course, but I can't fault the rest...scenic, great atmosphere, well organised and marshalled, and supported. Missed GNR first time for 3 years, but this made up for it !

In short: Gravylicious !
In full: Despite the weathers best attempts, this was still a great race as usual. Few puddles, but hey, this is trail racing ! Lovely scenery, good atmosphere, encouraging marshalls, and some lovely twisty turny bits....bliss !

Well done again to the Gravy Boys, this is always in my calender, roll on the Pud !

In short: Undulating between the hills was about right !
In full: Well, somebody should reveiw this race coz it deserves it ! For the first RRR club event, this was a cracker. I've trained around there, but didn't know there were so many sneaky little ( and not so little ! ) hills around the woods. Nice scenery, challenging but runable course, supportive marshalls (thanks Debs !) and a pub finish, what more do you need.

Will definately put this in my calender, well done to Brian and the "triple R" on the first, spread the word for next year ! :-)

In short: Excellent race, with a hill to crack the best !!
In full: Makes a nice change to the fast, flat road courses, which are great for PB's, but this is a total body workout. Hills, tough and frequent, Trooper Lane, just hard as nails, and the view at the top of the moor, excellent ! The downhills were great fun, and the support from Stainland marshalls was very welcome.

Sorry to Sal and J for talking them into this, I know they absolutely loved it, but two weeks before the Windermere Marathon ??:0(
....whoops !

In short: A reasonably challenging, well organised trail run
In full: Enjoyed again, two others from Sale ran and despite the heat said they enjoyed it as well. Well done to Gary and ATRR for the organisation and support, look forward to the next one and the Gill Pimblott 5K, bet it's not as sunny then !

In short: Enjoyable race, nice to know where the hills are !
In full: Enjoyed this again, and with a clear head this time. Good mix of runners, very well organised and supported by the marshalls, 4 mile hill was a bit tougher than I remember but I think that was just me on the day. Will definately do again next year, after considerably more hill work ! Well done Lostock AC.

In short: Training run scenery, but good for a PB !
In full: OK, it's not the prettiest place to race, and I don't like out-and-back races, but I make an exception for this one. Much better start, prefered last years finish though. Marshalls did well considering the number of roads to cover, great to have Jane Tomlinson start the race, inspirational. Will definately do again, on balance the nice bits win me over ! Well done DRR, keep it running !!

In short: As tough as I remember....but just as much fun !
In full: I trained here last month, did the route as best I could remember, but twice ! Couldn't better last time due to "man flu" but still would not have missed this race, challenginig and technical, great testing hills and winding trails, not a car in sight ! Well organised and friendly crowd, definately the one to blow the Christmas cobwebs away !

In short: Not as good as I remember from last year....just better !!
In full: I think from the other comments, you'd have to be a very demanding runner not to enjoy this race. The organisation was flawless, the marshalls could get on my Christmas card list, they were excellent and encouraging, and the scenery as nice as any of the trail type runs I've done this year. Well done to Wesham RR for a superb race, this is one of those runs you come back to for as long as you've got a stride in your legs !!

In short: It's the Great North for goodnes sake, if you want a PB come to Wilmslow !
In full: This was my 3rd time for the GNR, and inspite a PB for the course, I enjoyed this more than ever. Start was much improved, over the line in 3 minutes and up to pace straight away. Yes, there's too many runners to make it a "runners" race, but it's the atmosphere and variety that makes it. Supporters are great, fantastic support at the start and finish, despite bottle throwing scamps near the end....I've had beer bottles thrown at me on training runs !
It is a tough course, but it's the crown and other runners that lift you, but I wish they'd stop moving the 800m sign, it must have been 2 miles away from the finish the tim it took me to get to the end !!
Definately a worthwhile yearly pilgrimage up North, well done you Geordies and see you next year !
