In short: Nicely organised, horrible ending, too small, not sure about mixing half and full marathons
In full: Not sure what to say about this one. I ran the full marathon but in hindsight hadn't prepared enough and was cursing the race halfway round but realistically I think that was more to do with my preparation than anything as it's not that tough a course. I don't think the half and full marathon should run at the same time and the second lap was earily quiet when the halfers had peeled off. Not happy about the same medal for 1/2 and full, I've ran loads of halfs but this was only my second full and in my medal stack it could easily be another half. Organisation was good with very good marshalls and frequent water but would definitely have preferred sports drinks on the course too. The greenway is a horrible ending, especially on the second lap when it goes on for ever. Not a bad event but I won't be running this one again.

In short: Weather aside I loved this race, very happy
In full: Despite being pounded with gale force winds and hail this was great. Really well organised, despite thousands of runners it got away smoothly and promptly and it was great to run around the track. The organisation was second to none and I thought it was well supported although only in parts as supporters tended to congregate around the start / finish line area (which you do pass three times). The pre race pack was good and I appreciated the mid day start and no risk of amny stray traffic. Generally an exceptional race, one of the most enjoyable I've done and if only the weather had been good it would have been perfect.

In short: Not nearly as flat as I thought!
In full: Not sure what to think about this one, I was quite disappointed at the end but mostly because I'd expected it to be a really flat course and one where I could break 2 hours (previous PB is 2 hours 6) so I set off really quickly only to be confronted with one of the hilliest courses I've run on and a lot of wind. Granted there are no serious hills but the whole course is up and down which is not what I expected. Went off too quick, realised I wasn't going to achieve my goal and ended feeling demotivated. Organisation could have been better but the medal was nice and marshalls were good. Felt like I was being rushed through at the end though. Not one of my favourites but definitely coloured by personal experiences as above.

In short: Tough but not a killer - definitely poor goody bag
In full: Enjoyed it and it wasn't quite as scary as I'd feared. Wasn't impressed with walking to the start line though, or the fact that there was no medal and getting out of the car park at the end was a nightmare. Generally enjoyed it but it was let down a but by the little things. Some tough hills but nowhere as hard as I'd feared reading some of the reviews. Would still do it again as it's local but wouldn't travel a million miles for it

In short: My first marathon and really enjoyed it (much more than I expected to). It was hard and very hilly from mile 16 - 20 but very well organised and a beautiful area to run in - even if it did pour with rain.
