In short: Wet, Muddy and windy and did I say muddy :-), fantastic race, great cameraderie
In full: Weather last year was just as bad but much colder. Rained, rained and rained, but I'm sure there was less pooling water on the course this year.

Ran the 10k, then got on the train to watch the main race. Fantastic atmosphere following the race, maybe one year I'll sum up the courage to do the main race.

In short: undulating, but achievable, great for a PB
In full: Enjoyed it lots, one short hill which was challenging, and quite a lot of slow incline up, but do-able and nice to have the downhill towards the end. Would definitely do it again.

In short: Well marshalled and great scenery. Irked a bit when the cars were getting impatient at the beginning and had to run in the road edges.
In full: 3 water stations were well timed. Nice (?) antiseptic tasting water, but rather that than none as there is no other way of getting water to the stations except in huge dustbins which had obviously been sanitised. Not too hot, but still warm, and very windy across some of the open bits. Was my first 10 mile and managed just over 2 hours at my nice steady pace, if I hadn't stopped at the water stations to drink I would have been inside my 2 hour target. Grrr. Maybe great south eh?

In short: Was my first half in preparation for London next month. Very windy in some places, but still managed to get round in the time I was hoping for. No world records but encouragement for my next big challenge.
In full: Having enterered the London Marathon with a charity place (I work for one!) I used this as my "see how likley I am to get round" challenege and thoroughly enjoyed it. Parts of it were certainly challenging as the wind was quite strong and seemed to coincide with the uphill bits. Not as flat as it looks on the TV it was great seeing the streams of people in front and more encouragingly for me, behind. I took 2 hours 40 mins, but I was pleased. The XL Tshirt will get worn baggy or not, and the medal will have pride of place in my collection until London arrives. Funny thing is I am actually looking forward to doing another one.
