In short: The crowds make the day - incredible atmosphere
In full: Outstanding support from the crowds, marshalls, volunteers, St John's, etc - thank you to all for making the day. Agree with comment about i-Pods - and also mobile phones. With so many runners, it's not helpful when people are focussing on something else. Tricky enough when you're trying to dodge stray water bottles underfoot, and the odd pedestrian crossing through the runners and nearly causing a pile up! All that said - would not have missed it for the world - incredible experience.

In short: Always an enjoyable one
In full: Smiley marshalls as ever - thank you, in spite of the sleet just before the start. New HQ facility is great - staying warm until the start and going straight back into the warm at the finish made the race almost painless!

In short: Well done the marshalls for keeping smiling in the weather!
In full: Great fun - something quite exhilarating about running full pelt downhill in rain / mud / wind on a Sunday morning! Very enjoyable event, though as others have said, more info about distance to start would be helpful. Still, at least it was a bit of a warm up! Agree that the standing around at the end wasn't great, but sure the organisers will revise these bits for next year. Great race though. Thank you!

In short: Great early morning run along the towpath
In full: Thank you to marshalls - thought they did a great job, encouraging runners, dealing with the traffic etc.
Agree with comments about the value - it is pretty steep.

In short: Nicely challenging
In full: Enjoyed my first Hog's Back. However - definitely reiterate other peoples' comments about later finishers having to negotiate other runners / spectators / dogs / pushchairs on way to finish. That last 'mile' was tough enough! Also - would be nice if supporters gave priority to runners in the 'loo queue' prior to race! Overall though - thank you to marshalls who were very cheerful in spite of the weather.

In short: Great organisation, friendly marshalls, brilliant setting
In full: Knocked 9 minutes off previous PB - has to be good! Flat course, great scenery along the river. Good idea to issue baggage labels in the 'loo queue' to save time. A well organised race, with a medal to add to the collection. Banana and chocolate at the end were very welcome! Thank you Ranelagh.

In short: Thoroughly enjoyed it.
In full: Liked the early start - gives plenty of time to still have a Sunday. Marshalls great, as usual. Well signposted. Two minor things - people running 'joined at hip' on slightly narrow pavement at uphill section. Maybe they could consider 'single file' when they sense people edging to get by, as the road is too busy to step into? Also, the lady doing the water at the end was doing a valiant job, but having one or two extra helpers there would have speeded things up. Nearly offered my assistance, but was getting cold and needed the T-shirt to put on!! Worked well having everything there at the school - loos, baggage, etc. Thank you 26.2.

In short: The scenery!
In full: Amazing place to run - well worth turning up for for those of us who run slow enough to 'look at the countryside'! Agree with a previous comment that a marshall to direct parking and signs to show the way back to Kings Ride would be good. Otherwise, thanks to organisers and marshalls for a great race.

In short: Early start, but great sense of achievement to compensate!
In full: Running past Hampton Court, as the clock chimed 9, rowers on the river, runners on the towpath, sun shining in a blue sky - almost forgot there were 12 miles still to run! Good preparation for marathon in a few weeks. Thank you to organisers, marshalls and the very efficient guys and girls at the water stations.

In short: Enjoyable race, low key, but friendly
In full: If you're after big crowds and razzmatazz, this isn't for you. Not a big event, but well organised, well marshalled, and a great mental challenge on those lonely stretches. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you to organisers and marshalls.
