In full: Fantastic atmosphere and crowd support. I disagree with other posts about toilets there were plenty, there was even a friendly toilet attendant at the start and plenty on route. The samba bands gospel choir and djmbe players really helped you keep in the rhythm and to keep smiling. All the marshalls and volunteers were supportive friendly and worked really hard. Some of the mileage markers were a bit confusing especially at 21 and 22 miles and the power station leg was very tough but once you were through that the crowds of people willing you on was so inspiring. Only thing that spoilt it for me was having to collect my number beforehand at the Expo but even that was manned with friendly enthusiastic volunteers. The finish line funnel was well managed and there was a clear place to meet up with family. The baggage handling service was really well organized, I stupidly didnt trust it and went to the start in just my running kit and got very cold. I did get confused with the start pens and ended up in a different one to the pacer that I wanted to follow but again that was my own fault. brighton as a place really embraces the marathon and supports it in every way possible.

In short: Weather and scenery great, course needs reviewing, good supporters
In full: I was confused by the last minute route changes and went off course after 9 miles. To be fair to the marshalls it did come at a point in the race where the front runners were merging with slower runners so it was confusing (i.e ind estate.)I made up the mileage by doing the burry port harbour section on my own accompanied by two surly teenage bike marshalls! The coastal path became very busy after mile 18 and it was really demoralising to have to run past finish area especially as it was difficult to see where to go. The young marshalls at the water station at 21 miles were fantastic but the leg up to the turn was neverending and soul destroying. Getting to the finish line was a bit dicey as had to cross a busy car park and was a bit miffed that the finish area had already been dismantled even though the cut off time was supposed to be 6 hours. As a first event it was a great effort and the supporters that were on the course were very encouraging but for slower runners it was often a lonely run and would put off beginners.
