In short: Old school cross-country..... and then some!
In full: Marvellous training for the MdS next month, with full pack on and 12 miles in the legs from the previous day - it was hell.....and that towpath seemed to go on forever! What a day!

In short: Solid race with great support from the marshalls
In full: Nice mix of a course, with the off-road part much less challenging than the previous day at Belvoir! Marshalling was excellent. Could do with a bigger catering area, as a long queue for a cup of tea and a biscuit at the end was a pain....

In short: Great training with pack for the MdS next month
In full: Challenging course, but in comparison with other areas, such as Cumbria or Yorkshire, the hills are bumps but there's a lot of 'em! For me, with 9kg pack, it was a fab day out and great to chat with one or two people I've never met before on the way round.

In short: Organisation needs overhaul
In full: Several aspects of this race need looking at:

1) Pre race letter needs to accentuate the need to bring map and compass and be map literate. This was not expressed and leaves many non-local or first-time runners exposed to the pitfalls of a course without large numbers of marshals and signage.
2) Signage needed from main village to start, as ended up driving around Haworth for a fair while.
3) More desks needed at registration - only two meant big queues and a delayed start
4) More marshalls and markers or more realistically a greater emphasis by organisers to competitiors placed on self-nav (as pt 1).
