In short: Race of the year? Probably!
In full: Wonderfully organised race with a fantastic atmosphere. Too much happened to list it all. Even as a 1 lap 10K race this would have been worth doing, but for the sheer madness of doing it as 24hr relay, this event takes some beating!

In short: Tough but rewarding 5K!
In full: I'm not sure why more local runners don't take part in this series of races. £5 entry (or £12 for the series of 3 with half the money going to the organisation that maintains the woods) is a bargain!

Through the lovely Joydens Wood, this is a tough 5K. Sure it's got lots of hills and you're unlikely to PB. But it's very well organised and even though most of the runners wear club vests it's in no way elite - runners of all abilities are welcome. And every 10th finisher gets a bottle of wine!

In short: tough. hilly. well organised.
In full: i've been to this park many times but you don't appreciate how hilly it is until you run in it! Well organised race - having the water station in the part of the course where the two laps were was a very good idea - with encouraging, friendly marshalls. would suggest though that they need some portaloos nearer to the start line!

In short: Mud, hills, mud, mud, hills, smelly water, mud. love it!
In full: 3rd time at this race and it was good to see the organisers keeping it fresh by redesigning the course and putting more obstacles in.

really fab atmostphere and the fact there is pretty much a 0% chance of a PB is one of its selling points: this is a tough event.

any gripes? well the long queue to collect your number and the long loo queue could apply to most races. I'm not entirely sure where all the £22 entry fee goes - it's not as if there's loads of equipment to maintain - but this is definitely one of my favourite races. Even if i did fall in the mud four times!

In short: Well organised & marshalled race - deserves more local support
In full: First time i've done this race - good venue (not quite as flat as i thought it was!). Well marshalled & lots of encouraging support. Thought there could be slightly more signposting to the start line (i understand it's moved from previous years?) but otherwise no real complaints. Hope for the organsisers' sake that the weather improves next year.

In short: Always great fun - will be back next year.
In full: Really enjoyed the run, i'm already looking forward to next year. I'm glad it wasn't just me, though, who seemed to think it wasn't as hard as last year (esp. Hills of Hell at the end - were there fewer this year?). Loved the new 'lake' bit though. The only negative bits i found have already been mentioned elsewhere: too crowded (please don't be too greedy with the number of entrants, organisers!), rubbish goody bag. Bit tougher enxt year please!

In short: well organised, friendly, v challenging course!
In full: congrats to all involved for organising and marshalling an excellent race. really friendly marshalls who were encouraging without being OTT. Having run the 3 Joydens Woods races this year i'd had good hill training and was pleasently surprised at how relatively easy Cardiac Hill was. But those hills at the end were quite tough. Back next year to go for sub 40 mins.

In short: Great race, as always
In full: really good race though very hilly. well organised/marshalled by very friendly people. only gripe is that 7 days on the results are still not on their website.

In short: Good, friendly event, great for beginners

In short: Not perfect, but a good overall race
In full: Really appreciated the friendly marshals, and as for the hills... well that just adds a bit of variety! Only minor gripes were the slightly packed start (they need to find a better way of getting slower runners to the back of the pack without having to work your way through the faster runners) and the fact that the (good quality) T shirt, the banana and drink had to be collected in different parts. But overall would recommend this race
