In short: An excellent first running of this race - well worth turning up for.
In full: Really enjoyed this race. Nice, traffic free course [although there were a few bikes and dogs] run in lovely parkland. Not sure where all the 'tarmac' was - some big holes and puddles nearly made this mutlti-terrain. However, this didn't spoil things and, if anything, added to the enjoyment. A reasonable sized field for a first race, big enough to make it competitive but small enough to make it personal - calling out individual names and numbers was nice. Nice medal for finishing [could have done with a date] & a 'super' cup of soup and roll at the finish made this race well worth doing - definitely recommended & will be back next year!!

In short: Where was the mud?
In full: The was a well organised race on an excellent course. Fairly challenging in places [a couple of the hills were tough], with some easier road / trail sections thrown in. This race would be an absolute scream in the wet as certain sections would have become 'rather hazardous' to say the least.

Really enjoyed this though - good atmosphere & well worth turning up for. Nice finishing memento but something 'else' would have been nice.

Definitely do it again though, pray for rain next year ;-)

In short: Well worth doing
In full: I got a massive PB on this so I am probably biased [mind you it was my first 'road' 10k]. Well organised and a nice course - not too demanding. Weather was cold & it took me ages to warm up!

My only 'gripe' was a bit of 'dis'-co-ordination at the start and finish - seemed to be 'fun runners' in the road blocking the 10k'ers at the end in some places and the start was a little 'narrow'.

Really enjoyed the race though & will be back next year!!

In short: An excellent little race - a real gem!! Definitely recommended!
In full: This is a fantastic race. While only being short the course is quite challenging [hills, stiles, turnips et all]. The atmosphere was great with a wide range of abilities present.

Definite PB potential for an 'off-roader' as was demonstrated by the smashing of the course record by the first 3 home!!

Highly recommended - although if this gets any more popular they will need a bigger pub!!

In short: A well organised, fun race on a good course. Recommended.
In full: Only down side appears to be lack of official timings or results - unless some one tellsl me otherwise. Apart from that an excellent race & all in a good cause!

In short: My first half and definitely memorable!!
In full: I had ankle problems early on and would not have finished but for the encouragement I received from spectators and runners alike. Will definitely do next year if all goes well!! Home town race as well so it was always going to be a bit special. I felt sorry for those doing the full distance as everything seemed to pack up fairly quickly once the half had finished!
