In short: Location, location, location In full: A new 8k trail run at one of Brighton's best kept secrets. The weather behaved with the early mist burning off to leave blue skies, sun and warmth. A run of two halves, uphill and downhill. The uphill was to the thud of a nearby overnight rave, some of the survivors from looked liked extras from a zombie film but they clapped us so peace reigned. Excellent first edition of this race, please run it again, totally recommended. Date of review: June 26, 2011

In short: What A Difference A Year Makes In full: Last year the event was 'flamed' for organisational chaos, the organisers listened and today was a vast improvement, thank you!
The weather behaved the heavy rain and strong winds were replaced with a grey but bright day, dry with a very light wind at times.
The course was also tweaked, last year the organisers were faced with a late change due to cliff falls, this year was a straightforward road run. Some congestion in parts but just due to the natural width of roads and the need for the 'blue light' lane.
Stewarding and support excellent, a special mention to the two percussion bands, my brain rocked!
......and 20 mins off last year's time :-)

In short: Scenic, off road In full: Run as part of the Downlands Collge Fayre by local club Burgess Hill Runners. Good changing (+showers) in the adjacent sports hall. Plenty of food and drink available. Run was on fields and farmland with some woodland. Uneven surfaces but nothing too dodgy. Very well marshalled and organised. Useful hemp goody bag with fruit & nut bar, Dextrosol etc. Would definitely do it again! Date of review: June 20, 2010

In short: A Good Effort, but room for improvement In full: Pity the organisers whose route was drastically altered by potential rockfalls! A good alternative but the contraflow areas did need better marshalling or more barriers. The first couple of miles around the town suffered from variable width roads causing congestion. Water stations needed improved advance notice. The finish was appalling being brought to a halt before the timing mats due to what appeared to be issues with removing the chips. The weather! Well, Brighton in February is never reliable. Date of review: February 21, 2010
