In short: Ok half with good support but a few things to improve In full: I enjoyed Reading but the start was far too narrow and too many slow runners at teh front - made the PB impossilbe by mile 1 as I just couldn't get running (despite being in the second wave with a planned sub 1.25). They need to tighten this up. Few too many hills for an easy PB and the water containers were impossible to use! I also was very glad to be a woman at the end as the baggage claim for men was awful!Don't issue numbers based on finish time! Finally- there were just about enough toilets - a bit crowded with 30 mins to go but that is always the way! Date of review: March 4, 2014
In short: The name says it all - it is a big hill! In full: A great race that will become a regular on my calender now it is a 10k. The hill is hard but the long steady down hill makes up for it. And the organisation is great. Date of review: February 24, 2014

In short: A beautiful and relaxing riverside run In full: This is one of my favorite races. 3rd year in - I definately prefer the Uxbridge - Watford route - get the worst of the mud out of the way early! Great organisation (could do with a few more toilets....)and a really friendly crowd. Being able to buy a hot chocolate at the end really helped :-) I'll be back (baby permitting)!! In short: There were more hills than I remember - undulating is an understatement! In full: I found it quite hard work - there are a lot of hills and for the regular 20 miler this would be a tough one. As it was only my second I managed a PB! In short: A good flattish course with good Marshall's and a nice atmosphere In full: PB's would be very possible if you were near the front and there hadn't been rain for a while! A bit slippy in places this year.
There needs to be more toilets at the start -about twice as many. Several of us nearly missed the start!
The Uxbridge to Watford route is a better way round in my view-despite the walk from the station at the start.
Generally a good race with good Marshall's and a good atmosphere. I'll be back. (Shame about the baggage bus nut that wasn't the race organisers fault)! Date of review: November 8, 2009
In short: The half would be great for beginners - even with the hills - the marathon a little less so! In full: I really enjoyed the day - although the 13 mile point when we lost 11, 000 runners and most of the crowd was tough! However those who made it out to cheer the full marathon runners on did a great job - the marshals and water stations were fantastic and I managed to knock 9 mins of my PB with an injury so it can't be all bad :-) The free physio at the end was great! I would certainly recommend the half for any beginner - and even with the hills it would be pretty quick. The full is good for those who want a solid crowd free, super well organised run!
In short: Slightly hot and hilly but worth travelling to In full: I thought the course was lovely and the organisation superb - started bang on 10am and no scrambling for a spot near the front for faster runners. The hills were hard work - particularly 2nd time round. Only points I would make were bottles of water are much easier to drink than cups- and were needed in that heat! Better signs from the car park to the start would be helpful (we missed the turning and had to walk back)! However - I would do it again! Date of review: August 24, 2009
