In short: One of my favourites! In full: Second run of the Dirty Double!
The views on this run are no less than stunning - gorgoeus views over Ullswater :o)
Some tricky bits underfoot, and not the quickest 12k you'll ever run, but well worth the effort!!!
The steamer down the lake to the start at Howtown, while being serenaded, was a great way to start the race.... there was a superb photie included in the price of the race, with Ullswater and the surrounding hills as a backdrop.... and a superbly yummy hot meal afterwards too!
I love this run - brilliant atmosphere, superbly organised and amazing fun :o)
Roll on next year!!! *boing* Date of review: November 7, 2008
In short: yet again another marvelous run from the VO2 Max team! In full: This was the first of the Dirty Double - a fantastic weekend in itself! As always, things ran like clockwork - the challenge run was there for the less competative runners, and the trail race for the more so! The course was nice and varied - happy and cheerful and very supprotive marshalls on the way round - included in the price was also a race picture :o) Wonderful cakes at the finish provided by the local school, and a great atmosphere! We had a some first-time trail runners with us in our group and they thoroughly enjoyed it too!
Great atmosphere, Superb views over Patterdale and Ullswater.... superb organisation....
When can I sign up for next year?? Date of review: November 7, 2008

In short: Wow In full: I loved it. Organisation was second to none, scenery breathtaking... drumming band at the start fantastic....all the other events excellent as well - great idea to have a challenge as well as the trail race itself... support on the route was great - jazz band part way round at the pub... good water stations too, and I seemed to be in the right place at the right time to get jelly babies :o) SUPERB race, super atmosphere.... spot on. Roll on next year.... have enterede nearly all of the other series races off the back of this one... Date of review: May 13, 2007
In short: good local run... In full: I really like this race, is a good local run, good course and definate promise for quick times. I wasn't caught up in the problems with the funnel at the end, but did see the chaos, and it was a real shame, as apart from that this is a well organised race. Definately back again next year. In short: definately a favourite In full: really enjoy this race, this year was just as good as last year, friendly crowd, undulating course, cracking organisation.... just need more toilets! (that and more small t-shirts at the end!!!) Is the only thing that would improve it... and for the second year in a row it was rainy and wet, but I think I like it even more for it :o) great marshalls standing out there in the rain, and some good support on the way round too. Definately back next year. Date of review: May 13, 2007

In short: enjoyable morning run :o) In full: Enjoyed the course, enjoyed the hill in the middle and enjoyed the mud. Looking forward to doing the 15k next time, opted for the 10K this time. Laps meant that you got some encouragement each time you went round. Real mix of folks there. Good run :o) Date of review: January 21, 2007
In short: What a superb race :o) Fantasic Day :o) In full: What a run! Highly enjoyable... LOADS of fun muddy bits, excellent marshalls (smiles, encouragement and chatting all round!), superb organisation, wonderful goody bag and a long sleeved t-shirt, FANTASTICALLY friendly bunch of runners, hot tubs at the end, amazing view out towards Bristol/Bath at the top of the hill with the bridge glinting in the sunlight (that could be why I didn't see the bull!), jellybeans and choclate at the water stations, great supporters as well popping up all over the place, showers still hot at the end. I smiled from the start to the finish! What more can I say... can I enter for 2007 now????
It's a shame you have to put down PB potential for this one, as it's such a great social run - deserves 100% for this one! Date of review: November 12, 2006
In short: super course, well organised, great run. In full: Really enjoyed the run, got a new PB, and really enjoyed the course as well... few ups to challenge but enjoyable :o) Friendly marshalls, very encouraging and quite a few locals making the effort to get out and support as it's a rural course. Would recommend this one :o) Date of review: October 8, 2006
