In short: What a nice activity for Boxing day! Lovely atmosphere and a gentle course. No water en route or at the finish?
In full: I was drawn to this lovely event through the Runners World site and, having "pigged out" on Christmas day, it was just what I needed!
It's a gentle course 2.5 miles out and back, being generally downhill for the first half, so I felt I needed to hold back a little for the first half, to save my strength for the return! It was sad to see a serious casualty after only a mile and it made me realise that even a simple one-road course needs marshalls at regular intervals.
I was surprised and disappointed at the lack of water at the finish and no toilet facilities, as these were mentioned in the race instructions.
I had a long drive home so, with nothing at the finish and the race HQ a drive away, I left with no memento except the memory of a lovely run and a really friendly atmosphere.

In short: My first event - now I'm spoiled. A stimulating run in great weather through a beautiful park. The hill (x 2) was a great challenge and punctuated the run just nicely.
