In short: not bad, not brilliant
In full: First time i've done this race, travelled from Darlington, a trek of nearly 2hrs each way to get there, but thats not the fault of the race, good facilities @ the leisure centre & good directions from roads into Beverley for leisure centre, good crows @ finish in town centre, only one small fault with race in that the start was very crowded in a narrow street, a guy was even trying to push a push chair along the side of the pavement @ the start. Probably a good idea if they shut the pavement to pedestrians. Overall i was a little dissapointed with my personal result nearly a minute of my pb, but having done the london marathon 3 weeks ago & giving blood 11 days before maybe a fantastixc result was never gonna happen. Worth a try if you live local.

In short: better than most
In full: Only a few minor irrations prevented this from being a 100% race for myself. The parking in the school grounds should really have been free, why should you pay when it's in the organiser's interests not for runners to "clog" the surrounding residental area!

Getting from the school to the race start took people the long way round a council estate & for some-one whose never been to Lincoln was a little worrying, better guidance next time please.

Took 3ks to get into my stride for this race probably due to sheer numbers of people running this race, think the idea of having to prove that your "elite" will be a good thing & allow a 2 minute margin for those who beleive they have improved.

Water, smaller bottles BUT still with the "sport" tops so you can "sip" the water, as most people will tell you they took two sips then threw a almost full bottle away, myself included, plus a large bottle is hard to run with.

Lastly directions are needed BACK to the car park, i,d never been to Lincoln & was very lucky to get back to the car park in reasonable time.

To re-iterate only minor irratations on the whole i thought a very well organised race, no problems with race pack, even got call to confirm receipt. excellant support from crowds, great views, plenty of water (in bottles) great finish, friendly atmosphere. will do again & recommend to others. Stuart lynn, age 28, Darlington Quakers running club, finishing time 37.52 pb.

Well done City of Lincoln
