In short: A good training run for spring marathons, bit crowded at the start, but this always helps me to keep my pace down for the 1st 3 miles. In full: I've done this 16 miler twice a year for the last 3 years, so you get used to the organisation and route. It's very flat and after the 1st 3 to 4 miles you can pick up the pace if you want to. Lucozade stations at 3 points on the 2 laps + water. I find it a good marathon training run for pacing, keeps me slow at the start and then allows me to find a comfortable pace for the rest of the run. I then usually run from the finish out to the 2 mile marker and back to get a 20 miler in total, in. They give you a mug at the finish, with date and event on it. Lucozade again in abundance at finish. Date of review: April 3, 2006

In short: Good organisation. Pretty scenic once out of the town. Rural lanes etc. Undulating was a bit of an understatement for some of the hills, but all manageable, with a fast finish. Date of review: February 13, 2006
