In short: A race well worth crosssing the Pennines for.
In full: I have run this race several times but not for a few years and I was charmed with the new scenic course. I even loved running alongside the Mersey despite the head wind! The organisation was good and as usual with a Liverpool race, everyone was most friendly and helpful. I'm looking forward to next year. The only minor disappointment was queueing for ages in the cold to get a goody bag with nothing to eat in it!

In short: Great day out
In full: Glorious weather - bit too glorious for running uphill perhaps but two very welcome water stations were provided and the sun and the undulating course made the scenery quite stunning. This was a very well organised and very friendly event that was accurately described on the Runners World website as a "Yorkshire gem"

In short: Perfect running conditions. Great day out at this very friendly event
In full: I always enjoy this well organised , friendly event. Sefton Park is a super venue and perfect for the post race picnic, since we're allowed to park on the grass. But what happened to the tee shirts this year? I'm a size 12 so picked up a 'medium'. when I saw how tiny it was I swapped it for a 'large' but if it shrinks at all in the wash that will be too small too!! I liked the very scenic, traffic free course and look forward to next year

In short: Friendly, hilly challenge!
In full: Enjoyed this one. It's flat where I live so the hills were quite a challenge but that leads to a great sense of achievement at the finish. The marshalls were encouraging and I loved the homemade cakes available afterwards. (Please cook more next year - the speed merchants had almost cleared the place by the time I got there!)

In short: A good event blessed with glorious late autumn weather
In full: this was a race of two halves. The first half was nothing special, with a short loop round an industrial estate, followed by a long sretch along a road. The scenic second half was off road and absolutely glorious on such a nice day, with the sun making all the autumn colours more vivid. Would it not be possible to cut out the initial loop and make the off road part a bit longer? I thought the parking was well organised and liked the pud rather than another teeshirt. I really enjoyed this event and hope to be back next year. Thanks organisers!

In short: Well organised and very scenic
In full: My first time for this one but i hope it won't be the last. i found the early hills challenging but liked the thought that coming up to the finish it was going to be downhill! Even the weather cooperated this year and we had a perfect day for running. I liked the extra effort put in to ensure everyone ended up with the size teeshirt they had requested.

In short: 1n 2009 I must save a bit more for that long final hill!
In full: I really enjoyed this race. The city centre start was superbly organised. Portaloos all over the place so very little queuing. I was in the second starting wave and the race never got too congested. I loved the out and back nature of the course and being able to watch so many other runners. I hated the long hill back to the finish but heck it's Sheffield after all! I thought the teeshirt was excellent. The results were up the same day and I definitely hope to be back next year.

In short: Looking forward to next year
In full: Super event. Everyone was friendly from fellow runners to the many encouraging marshals. One of the nicest courses I've run with a lovely couple of miles along the canal towpath and then something different around every corner. After the race there were showers and a great homemade cake stall. Forget the diet - you've just run a race! Loved to see all the families picnicing at the finish.

In short: Mix up at start meant finish had to be moved and mileage signs wrong
In full: Liked the cheerful marshalls and the interesting course. Although i was going slowly, i was surprised to find it took me 28mins to reach the 2mile sign!! because the finish had to be moved, it made it unpleasant for supporters who missed the relevant announcement and then waited under the large "finish" banner and wandered where the runners were!! The actual finish was a brisk 20min walk away so my husband was one who didn't get there before I came in.

In short: Glorious scenery but a really tough challenge. Very satisfying
In full: I found it very relaxing not to be checking my watch all the time. With challenging terrain and few distance markers there was no point! This was an event to simply enjoy and be happy and proud to be a runner - whatever your pace.
