In short: Worth the trip...
In full: First time at Silverstone and I enjoyed the day...

After a 4 wk layoff in my training due to shin splints for the London Marathon it was good to get back to running. I was running in Superman fancy dress so started from the back (i think i was last over the line - lol), so I wouldn't get in the way of other runners. I ran for 5mins and walked for 1min and still managed to come in the 4000's lol... And I beat batman! Glad to say i had no problems from the shin-splints or any unwanted chaffing from the costume - only problem was a sun burnt head!!!
So Silverstone - i'm into gp so i loved the course, i kept getting the urge to cut the corners and shout that's what Lewis does!!!
The course is flat so defo PB potential for those seeking that - will attempt it again next year and see how i get on.
Great race in the build up to London - here we go....

In short: Excellent Race & well marshalled.
In full: I'm glad I turned out for this race it was well worth the trip. On a calmer day the course is a definite pb potential. A few challenging inclines but nothing too major. I'll be there next year.

In short: ++ Potentail to be a very good race but it was a hard slog in places ++
In full: I want to congratulate all the volunteers who did a great job in organising this event.

My Main hiccup was the 20min late start but easily resolved. Would of preferred an out and back type of course and couldn’t see the point of starting from the Alexander Stadium – I liked running around the centre by Victoria Square and Edgbaston. And the crowds throughout the course spurred me on. I didn’t enjoy the section of the race where I was running up the Hagley Road and runners were coming back down the other side.

Overall I thought the course was challenging and at times a hard slog but not unexpected from the course profile – I was a few mins of a pb.

In short: ++++ The Perfect Race ++++
In full: Well done to the organisers and everyone involved in this years race - faultless. Great new start and finish location. Glad the route was changed this year so we didn't have to crawl up that last big hill in 12th mile! I always seem to run quick at this race - close to my pb! I'll be there next year.

In short: --- Great Race - Well Done to the Organisers ---
In full: I'm glad I turned out for this race - The organisation at the start and the marshalling throughtout the race was excellent. PB potential. The course is flat apart from one small hill which you can catch back on the decent. I'll be there next year.

In short: NOT FOR ME…A MISS…!
In full: I was really looking forward to this run but found it disappointing and for the first 10miles I had no one around me – so lonely!!

The start of the race was organised really well, but that was the best bit - At the end of the race there didn’t seem to be much organisation at all.

Not really set-up for 700-800 hundred runners with only 1 toilet at the start!

Just after the first mile my group went the wrong way due to the direction sign sailing down the canal, would have been good to have a marshal at this point. I did look out for the next available marshal to inform them, but that was a few miles later. I was cursing as I ran (tip toed!) through Crosely Tunnel as it was very uneven and not lit very well - dangerous. I found it very difficult to pace myself due to either mile markers missing or the wrong distance – I ran one mile at 6mins and the next at nearly 9mins – so I was either quickening up or slowing down – I would recommend in future you have a marshal at each mile marker. The goodie bag should have been called the rubbish bag! There was no protein bar or bottle of water to re-hydrate on the way home – just a poor quality medal and advertisement leaflets for £13.50. The Freckleton Half Marathon gave out a sports bag, protein bar, banana and bottle of water for £1.50 less…!

When I went over the finish I had to ask if it was at the end as there was no clear sign to say so.

I would like to say thank you to Chris (ST. John’s Ambulance) who had to check on me at the end due to, I guess, slight heat exhaustion.
