In short: Ouch, I ache!
In full: I knew it was going to be hard when I guy behind me said - oh they've changed the route this year - you'll like it if you like hills!
Well, hills there were - hills and hills and hills. And where there weren't hills there was mud and water, and sometimes mud and hills together!
Brilliant though - you've just got to laugh or you'd cry. Everyone's in the same boat (actually, a boat would've been nice!) so there are a lot of laughs, helping hands, and shoves on the bum to help you along. Will be there next year, but will spend the next 11 months strength training as I am wrecked today!

In short: Brilliant - as usual
In full: After Reading seeing a serious soaking I wasn't sure whether anyone would turn up - let alone in fancy dress. Pretty much everyone made the effort - brilliant. What a laugh - the course was really dodgy in places but as long as you were careful and put thoughts of a pb behind you it was hilarious. Had the usual "die hards" who would rather have a leg off than wear fancy dress, but they were pretty much ignored by the rest of us who were there for the laugh, the atmosphere, and the pumpkin soup!! I'll be there again next year - even more lit up and with even bigger fancy dress!

In short: Once again - absolutely brilliant
In full: This is the 3rd time I've done this and each year see more and more fancy dress (there's always a few curmudgoens who dress normally but there always will be) Brilliant organisation, runs exactly to time and really well marked out with excellent marshalls pointing out the slippy bits. The drumming band are fantastic and the whole thing is really something to look forward to when the clocks go back and everybody's depressed. Slightly disconcerting to be chased by a man wielding a machete at 4k but I'm pretty sure (!!) he was part of the race - I hope so anyway. Sign me in for next year Cliff

In short: Good challenging race - loads of fun on a Sunday morning!
In full: To start with the downside, it really was a long cold wait for the start - I know the actual race was perfectly on time but as another reviewer said, most of us got there early as the race desk was due to close at 10am and that 1hr wait was nasty!
On the upside the race was really good - it would be interesting to do it in "normal" January weather too when it wasn't frozen solid - unlike Hellrunner I ended up really clean - the mud was too solid to play in! Good friendly marshalls, and the army guys provided loads of much needed support too. Hard, but not terrible - just enough to justify a decent roast dinner and glass of wine (or 3) I'll definitely be back.

In short: Brilliant (I can say that now I'm warm and dry!)
In full: A real laugh on a Sunday morning. I fell in the Bog of Doom (all captured on video by my husband - thanks!)and spent the remaining 2 or so miles sporting a fetching mud beard - didn't realise quite how bad I looked till people kept staring from cars on the way home! Muddy, wet, cold, sandy and really really hard - where do I sign up for next year?

In short: Another excellent CP10
In full: AS before, really well organised, fab scenery especially along the river, really well supported, evil marchalls laughing at me as I struggled on hands and knees up the 2nd bridge! Great T-shirt and for me an 8 minute pb - what could be better - thanks Stragglers

In short: What a corker!
In full: Really really enjoyed this race. Not a PB but who cares - the chance to trot along the towpath, stare lovingly into the windows at House of Fraser, run past the newly re-furbished Forbury Lion with a few hundred like minded others on a sunny Sunday was brilliant. Could not fault a thing - definitely on my list for next year - thanks for an excellent race guys!

In short: Brilliant!
In full: To anyone who has complained on their review - don't be such grinches!
It was a fabulous run - the hills were challenging and the last one was evil on tired legs. I finished filthy and well at the back but enjoyed myself. Found everyone to be friendly and the pacer to be great. I think RW put on a great morning - very well organised. Would definitely do it again even though my legs today say Nooooo!!!
