In short: Much harder hills this year
In full: Some changes to course added lots of tough hills...to be fair even a mountain goat couldn't run up many of them and hey got annoying in th end. Always a friendly bunch though. Not impressed with first aid after we helped a collapsed chap near bog...I will be writing to the organisers..glad it wasn't me but hope he is ok.

In short: Good local race with nice small field.
In full: Second time - last year I PB'd even faster than Reading. This year, not done the training I usually would owing to illness and general laziness.... decided to go sh*t or bust and try to break 1:40 - went out far too fast, almost broke 10k PB - then once over the big hilly bit but just ran out of go - and then it was survival mode - slowest for 3 years at the end. Weather was surprisingly warm once the clouds broke.Lesson learned, next time will not be so silly!Great support all round as ever, thanks to all the volunteers. Best tasting ice cream ever at the finish!

In short: Really enjoyable - and surprisingly quick...
In full: First time for me at Bracknell - work there every day but never been tempted. Was not expecting anything like as quick a time as Reading, but first few miles had to hold back as course was quite zippy. Hills at 8/9 were a bit of a test, as was the gradual incline up to finish coupled with the twisty bits in the underpasses. Never the less managed to PB by nearly 3 mins....!! Good organisation, easy parking/toilets, nice goody bag. Support and water stations very good too. Overall very nice race indeed - hope they keep it this small.

In short: As always - great stuff from 2:09 - well done Mike G and crew.
In full: Been meaning to do this for years and always miss out for some reason. First race of year, tail end of cold and felt very tired. First mile flew by, perhaps a little too quickly. At 3 miles I felt like it was going to feel a looong way - but at 5 or so I found my groove and started to pick loads of people off. Canal path made this hard, but once it thinned out was OK. Stairs up to road were tough, managed to grin at photographer first. Didn't feel the final hill - but just missed going sub 60 mins by 54 seconds. Will be back for more next year.

In short: Great day out - a little long?
In full: Weather great little breezy but nice and sunny - no issues at start apart from the usual shortage of loos. After 4Km I didn't see another km marker, and the tight turnarounds were a pain - and finish line was a bit vague. Only had small or XXL shirts at end. Ran a PB, and if it was as much as 0.5km long then even faster - so musn't grumble. Only minor gripes really - had a great day out, great for kids/dogs too - sort out the distance and top marks.

In short: Ice Ice baby!!
In full: The sight of them breaking the ice with a sledgehammer was great for the motivation! Lovely sunny day - albeit cold - the delay for traffic/ice issues mant it had warmed up a bit. They had us avoid much of the water/ditches which was a shame. The last mile or two had changed from 06 and 07 - so me making up time between 5 and 7 was a bad idea when more hills appeared... missed my target but still a 5 min PB...

In short: Great muddy fun...
In full: Really enjoyed this (in a twisted way). Not done it before but have done Grim/Turbo X - was a fair bit tougher than Turbo X. Very bunchy on hills, which enforced some walking. The bog was great fun, especially the one with the Devil and the muddy bank to slither up. Hills of Hell were a nasty sting in the tail, but we were alost home so had some in reserve from somewhere! Goody bag was good value, nice T-Shirt. Definitely do it again next year. Anyone want a pair of trainers and some socks?

In short: Fantastic - as ever Mr Gratton lays on a top event!
In full: Mud, hills, more hills, mud... how long it will take me to get clean I do not know! Great organisation, great goody bag and t-shirt, and great fun - good camaraderie all the way round - me and another guy managed to keep each other up in the big bog .. just! I will be back - next stop Longmoor!

In short: Great event as ever from 2:09 and in my back yard too!
In full: Really enjoyed this, after a flat but windy 10k on Sunday gave a poor time this went really well. Nice number of runners, great organisation as ever from Mike's team. I run in these woods all the time so knew much of the route which helped. That 'nice' long hill up to Caesar's Camp was a good choice! Very nice route and great goody bag for the price.
