In short: Could improve
In full: Cons:

1) Too many runners for the course meant i couldn't get out of traffic to mile 4/5
2) Goody bag was a joke
3) Running in Vibrams the bottle tops were a painful hazard
4) Dual carriage way stretch was dull and uphill

Pro's

1) Good atmosphere
2) Some scenic parts

In summary I feel course has got worse not better. Cardiff is great city with some beautiful parkland which could be utilized in the route (given a wave start would be required given the field size). This was my fifth Cardiff Half and no doubt I will enter again next year - in reality this is because I live in Cardiff. If I lived further away I would not travel for this event.

In short: Better Organisation needed
In full: Agree with previous comments, lots of runners holding up people by lining up far ahead of their true ability. The 'double back' at the end was terrible - did the organizers read last years reviews of the double back on north road?

Bottle neck caused problems. Bad move to take the race to the Bay - congestion at the end trying to cross the race field to get to runners village - not fair on the people still running.

Big thank you to the lad in red nike t shirt getting the crowd going through the entire race :-)

Goodie bag poor - t shirt expected and deserved.

Will do it again, in fact already entered, but that's because it's my home town rather than because it's a particularly good race. Better organization could turn this into a fantastic event - we have a great, scenic city. If the organizers got their act together this could become 'The Great Welsh Run'

In short: Must do race
In full: Big Dipper tough, good atmosphere. No free soup as seen in previous years but cant grumble given the entry fee. All in all a great race.

In short: Super Smashing Great
In full: Great atmosphere and friendly runners. Moving 2 mins silence. Muddy to the extreme. First but certainly not the last time I will enter. My new trail shoes are well and truly christened.

In short: Where is my T Shirt??
In full: Really enjoyed but a few major problems. The cone turn on North Road at the end was dismal and has to be changed - cant they alter the route to take in Roath Park and Lake for example? Goody bag awful. Medal great. Good atmosphere and support. Will be back. Fat as a Stamp.

In short: Better organisation required
In full: Start was appalling - zoned starts required. Good crowd support, very congested in parts - last year marathon and half started at different times - why the change? Goodie bag - poor - those nut bars were awful. Medal better than last year - T Shirt pretty much identical. Doing the half made me realise how demoralising doing a 2 lap marathon is - saw the poor guys running past the staduim to do another lap - glad i was finishing. Would love to do a marathon in Cardiff again but won't entertain it until they make it a one lap course. All in all good fun though and will no doubt do half again next year.

In short: Hilly and Hot
In full: Much more hilly than the race was marketed and would have changed training accordingly. Mile markers were a joke. Overall thoroughly enjoyed - great atmosphere.

In short: Great first time marathon
In full: As a first timer didn't really know what to expect. Public definately need to be kept off the course - twice cyclists were telling me to get out of their way - cheek! Disapointed that the crowd seemed far thinner at the end of 26 than at the end of 13. Overall thoroughly enjoyed and will be back!
