In short: Liked it. In full: All in all, this is a good event, well timed for that final long run before tapering for a spring marathon. Course consists of 4 laps around urban streets. Marshalls were very good and had their work cut out at some of the junctions. A few road junctions weren't marshalled and I did see one incident with an impatient driver so maybe some more marshalls required. Also, found it pretty hard getting up early for an earlyish start the same weekend that we lost an hrs sleep to clock change. Another big plus.....great to see the local police out in force on the course, a rare event these days. Would definitely do the event again as part of marathon prep. Date of review: March 28, 2011

In short: Better than last year, despite the weather! In full: Two lap course, each lap consisiting of a 3 mile stretch around the perimeter of Dunsfold Airfield, followed by seven miles of undulating Surrey countryside. Very well organised and excellent marshalling. Nice choc bar, ribena and medal at the end....a t-shirt would be nice. This event was exactly right for me in terms of course and facilities and very good prep if you plan to be running an April marathon. My garmin only measured 19.88 miles though. In short: Medals are good but mugs are better! In full: Last ran this race in 2007 and thought the changes to the course were a good improvement. A fast wide start, the course takes in some of the Thames path, minor and some major roads. All good surfaces to run on and I had no problems withh traffic or pedestrians on the path. Good organised marshalling and a nice mug to go home with. Would recommend. It might be my time keeping but I thought the official result was a bit faster than I ran so it will be interesting to see if others reporty a discrepancy too. Date of review: June 20, 2010

In short: Good Marathon Prep In full: Nice race through countryside on tarmac roads. Thought there were quite a few undulations. Good marshalling, plenty of drink stations and good mile markers. Congested start running into oncomming traffic and busy finish too. If I was to be picky, I could say that the results could have been posted a bit quicker. Date of review: March 29, 2010

In short: Enjoyable jaunt around Surrey countryside In full: Good two lap course on tarmac through Dunsfold aerodrome and surrounding country roads. Nice wide start so you could get the ideal start. I thought the course was a little more than 'playful' with four of five climbs. A little of the course was on busy lanes with fast traffic. Great medal, but still pricey. Good job done by organisers and marshalls. Date of review: March 14, 2010

In short: Good Mara Preparation In full: I like this race, I find it a fast course, despite one or two undulations around country roads. Great to see the police helping out and the marshalling and support at water stations was top. The bumbag was a bit unusual but the snacks and milkshake at the end were most welcome. £18 for a t-shirt on top of £20 entry was very steep in my opinion. Date of review: February 17, 2010

In short: Make no mistake, this was a GREAT race. In full: I had a few concerns after reading reports of last years race, but the organisers got this exactly right. A very fast, well marshalled flat course that has potential to be extremely quick. The course is entirely on tarmac, mostly along cycle paths, and including a couple of visits to an airfield and also takes in the promenade. Looking at the map of the course, I was concerned that some of the corners were going to be switch back 180 degree turns but such is the course that all the turns were fine. My goodie bag included practically a whole pack lunch for which I was very grateful. I was surprised however at the lack of chip timing for a race of this magnitude. Overall, thouch very enjoyable. well done to everyone involved in staging the event. Date of review: November 15, 2009

In short: Excellent event In full: Very friendly race with great marshalling. Course is a two lap mix of grass, tracks and tarmac through some very scenic parkland with a couple of longish climbs on each lap. 99% traffic free. Being hyper critical, there were quite a few 180 degree sharp bends. Hope to be back next year. Great t-shirt. Date of review: October 11, 2009
