In short: Basingstoke Half a challenge of alpine proportions - but fun !!! In full: Great race, weather was kinder to us all this year. The hills which include Bedlam Bottom are mildy undulating to say the least, but nothing too hard. Great organisation and well organised and excellently marshalled - WELL DONE. In short: One for the diary In full: As usual; a fantastic point to point race. I for one love the Police escort to the start and it never ceases to amaze me how they can get 4 x huge coaches up those tiny lanes to the start. One previous reviewer mentioned a late start and was quite negative about the event - it was only 5 minutes late off !!!! everyone I spoke to enjoyed the experience - including the tea & cakes afterwards.
Well done Overton Athletics Club, the marshalls, the Police and those brave coach drivers.
Will be back next year....again !!!!!!!! Date of review: April 5, 2011

In short: Never again............well not until next year anyway In full: No great issues for me - thought it was another great day for the organisers and the event itself. I was on the red start and in 'pen 8' the marshalls were very strict on who got into our pen which was a bit harsh considering this was the second to last pen - it sounds as if those marshals were needed at the sharp end.
Not the organisers thought, but I thought the 'essential' work required on the Bakerloo line on the day when 100's of thousands of people descend on Central London was laughable.....GENIUS !!! Date of review: April 27, 2010

Thanks to the race marshals, Police and everyone connected with the organisation.

In short: Big race with big race feel In full: My 13th GSR and I never tire of running around Portsmouth - I'll be back next year.
I learnt from last year that parking on Southsea Common is farcical, so for the first time I parked on a road closeby and 'paid and displayed' which was only slightly more expensive than parking on the Common - but without the huge delays getting out.
Not sure what happened to the 'wave' system, as the was no delay between 'A,B & C's' - which was strange as it advertised as such and ultimatley was needed to stretch the field out to avoid bunching and allow an easier passage for faster runners to get by those who were classifed in the wrong wave.
