In short: Great, and constantly improving race. Well reccomended.
In full: The organisers are not blessed with the best facilities. Little car parking and poor facilities at race HQ. Yet what they achieve despite this is amazing. The logistics of parking in lots of different places, in some cases over a mile away and having shuttle buses is pretty remarkable.

Clearly lessons learnt from previous years have led to constant improvements and it gets better with age.

The marshalling is top notch. Good traffic control with good amounts of encouragement.

T shirt is a good quality one.

This one has become a regular feature on my racing calendar and based on this year, it will continue to.

In short: A nice little race to blow the seasonal cobwebs away.
In full: Communication in the days leading up to the race by Roy were fantastic. The course had to be changed but didn't present a problem. Its not the nicest course in the world, but its flat with hardly an incline. Definite PB material if you didn't overdo the mince pies.

Outstanding support from Cleethorpes AC on the marshalling front, when many people would be sleeping off New Year Eve hangovers.

Haven't done it for a few years, but definitely plan to come back again soon.

Many thanks Roy and team.

In short: Truly amazing marshals.
In full: It was bad enough to run in those conditions but to stand in them and still greet everyone with a smile?? Wow.

Well organised and very pleasant marathon. You can't expect good weather in December, but that was something else!

In short: Great race. Back next year for sure.
In full: I haven't run a stand alone half marathon in 2 years (done some marathons, 15 mile and 30K races and at the end of a half ironman) but I'd forgotten about how fun they are.

The organisation in this race was amazing. Closed roads, good parking, great support all round the course. The entry fee is pricey but good value for the cost of the closed roads and the goodies at the end.

Minor minor grip was the water stations where the volunteers didn't seem to be able to cope with demand, but were doing their very very best.

Well done to everyone that made this race such a good one.

In short: Well organised event that should be popular than it is.
In full: With many triathlons filling up months before the date, Grantham Tri is an event that should be more popular than it is. In its second year, organiser Bob Panter has learnt well from the lessons of last year.

An excellent pool with 8 lanes means that there is plenty of room to swim the 400m and generously spaced out times between competitors is a welcome change from the usually crowded sprint swims.

The bike course is undualating, but fast in places. The traffic can be heavy in places but is mainly quiet country roads.

The run is nice and flat and the two laps finish on the athletics track which is a touch I always enjoy. Sadly the two laps are through a housing estate so won't be the nicest run you'll ever do.

The enthusiasm of the organiser is very clear and the marshalling is first class. This event deserves to be attracting much bigger fields so hope to see you there next year. Highly recommended.

In short: As usual the Striders pull together a well organised race with amazing marshals. How cheerful and uplifting were those guys who had been out on the course for hours? Amazing.

In short: Fantastic marshalls, nice scenery. Villagers were out in force to cheers us through. Road closures made the race safer. Good to run along the seafront and get lost of support there. Only downside, lack of water between 2.5 and 9 miles. Spot on

In short: Shame there was less run in Clumber Park this year, as thats what really makes this race. Great its a traffic free course, and the organisation is good.

In short: I'd do it again purely as it's so local to me. It's a great atmosphere and gets people out racing that probably only turn out for this. Glad I parked at the castle this year and jogged to the start as I hear there were problems with the toilets.
