In short: Too hilly and twisty for a good time In full: Very good organisation and facilities. Odd course, to many hills and twists and turns to settle into a good pace. Unusual to go clockwise instead of anti-clockwise, which led to too many right turns. Plenty of water and sports drink on a warmish day. Date of review: August 30, 2009

In short: Challenging race with good organisation, although on the pricey side, In full: There were hills, but not impossible; the greenway mad a nice change from the road, although it was twisty towards the end. For £28 + £6 parking, it would have been nice to be given a bit more that a banana and a bottle of water! However, soon forgot this when I was enjoying relaxing in the city afterwards. In short: Great challenge in glorious weather In full: Tough run, with a good mix of terrain and hills, which get progressively harder! Mud not too bad this year, but must be fun when it rains! Date of review: March 22, 2009

In short: Scenic and shady course, not really PB potential In full: Very pretty run, but all the undulations plus the grassy start and finish and that killer steep slope to get off/on the playing field all conspire to slow you down. Well organised in many respects, but a very long walk from the car park and not really sufficient toilets for the size of field. Just a medal and a Mars bar makes it poor value at that price. I liked the swim at the end though! Date of review: August 18, 2008

In short: I was expecting one big hill, but there were others too! In full: Lovely scenery, all off-road course and certainly more of a challenge than I was expecting; the first 1k hill to The Peak was something else - it took me till 4k to recover. Disappointed that vets prizes went to the overall winners too, so several went away with two trophies, and other good performances missed out completely. Not the way it's normally done! Overall a race to remember. Date of review: August 13, 2007

In short: Not PB potential today due to strong wind In full: On a positive note, water stations and marshalling very good on route. Shambles at start, with everybody not sure where to find things and not enough toilets. No goody bag was a bit mean, considering the price and large entry. Also no apparent prize giving, which in addition was geared towards men rather than females.Despite this still glad to have done the race, felt good to finish. Date of review: March 11, 2007
