In short: Really lovely race, clearly organised by runners!
In full: Having planned on doing this the last few years and then not making it, I'm glad I did this year.

A thoroughly enjoyable race that I know I'll be coming back to year after year from now on.

Perfect size field of people, really good mix of abilities, scenery fair enough, it's Victoria Park, excellent goody bag, medal, towel, bagels at the finish line.

And another thing(s) it's

a) on a Saturday, so you've still got your Saturday night

b) it doesn't start until 11am so you've also got your Friday night out too.

Whatever your level, do this race.

In short: Good intentions.....but they must try harder
In full: I loved this race, yes this would have been influenced by the fact I scored a 9++ minute PB, but it was also influenced by the race.

I liked the course, I liked the mixture of support coupled with the spaces where you could just do you own thing and find your own rhythm.

Coming across the bay in the last couple of miles was just outstanding.

That it was short was a pain in the arse, I'm sure they'll get it right next year, unless they want a riot on their hands.

For next year....

*Please can we have starting pens & colour coded numbers in the style of the Great South

* Please start on time, we were freezing our backsides off

* Please place proper signposts around the starting area, it took me 15 minutes and asking numerous people to find out where to put our bags

*Remove that hairpin turn in the final half mile.

I may well be back next year.....

In full:
I've completed this race 3 years in a row and I keep coming back....I dont see a time when I wont want to run the Reading Half.

Great atmosphere, lashings of support, solid medal.

Dont just think about entering this race, do it!

In short: Cheeky Little 5k
In full:
We only decided to do this at the last minute as I've got Edinburgh mara in 4 weeks...however this race is a mile from my front door and we have to support our local races, plus my 12 years old decided he wanted to run it.

So glad we did it even if we did get there and register as they wer finishing their warm up.

Traffic free course, it does a sort of figure of 8 on Hilly Fields, the climbs maxed out at 497ft climb...there are no flat bits.

There are families, buggies, people laughing and 5minute milers all there.

Theres a medal and (good quality) T shirt too.

We shall be supporting this race every year.

In short: They must be doing something right
In full: As I keep going back....even though each year I say I wont bother next year. Very little crowd support, all country lanes....so if you like looking at fields and hedges and trees then you will love it.

I know I'll be back agian next year....I still dont know why. Maybe it's the medal

In short: Glasgow's Smiles Better!
In full: I love this race and I shall be running it for as long as they are!

A good mix of Glasgow from Georges Square, through industrial, residential, parkland and finishing up on the Green.

The Scottish Sikh runers with the hose were an absolute godsend (excuse the irony).

Also the wee teenage pipers along the way were a nice touch.

This race is for beginners to elites and everyone in between.

Areas they could improve on would be sending out the numbers a few weeks before rather than hours before, I was flying back and only just got my number!!

The Reading half just pips this to the post because of the support it has.....come on Glasgow get out and start shouting!!

In short: Good race for Newbies to Speedy Gonzales types!
In full: It's a good race, well organized, very well marshalled...I swear we only crossed 5 bridges clearly I was in daze for number 6 though.

Please please make it chip timed I had an extra 1 minute and 37 seconds added to my time because of the start!!

I thought the medal thing was a bit funny (they said 2006), but I understand it's being sorted now.

I will be back next year.

In short: Something for the weekend?
In full: There are few better ways for a runner to start the weekend than a quick blast around Bushy Park on a Saturday morning.

For some it's become an annual pilgrimage, others make it down once a month check on their training and there’s the others……..yes the others……the ones that are there come rain (sleet/snow/hurricanes) or shine (heat waves/droughts/hosepipe bans) the ones cheering you on as you ‘sprint’ down the final straight, the ones who hand you the little silver disk of dreams at the end.

You get out what you put in at the BPTT, injured? Offer your services as a helper…..everyone helping is a volunteer. New to BPTT? Come along to Café Nero on Teddington High Street afterwards and meet everyone upstairs whilst warming yourself on a well deserved mocha choca dooda.

BPTT. It does exactly what it says on the tin.

In short: Everything is right with this race.
In full: Perfect way to start your weekend.

Excellent atmosphere, lovely bunch of people.

I started off by saying I'd do it once every couple of months, I now do it twice a month at least.

There's even a playground where the kids can play whilst you run....or they can run with you.

Nobody ever does it once...they always come back

In short: Great for the elites, not so good for the plodders
In full: I entered because of the review's on here.

It is a good race, in that it is flat and the scenery is good. However if you are a plodder (like me 11m/m) then I would enter something Reading instead for atmosphere for you first half, I would not recomend this race. There were time when we had no idea which way to run because there was a real lack of marshalls, or they had got bored and were gazing in the wrong direction and or talking to friends etc so you had to run up to them and ask which way to go.

Can we have a medal instead of a T-shirt and can you get the pub to open up at 11, they missed a fantastic oportunity there.

That all sounds a bit negative. It is a good race, but did mostly feel like just being out for a long weekend run.
