In short: My favourite run ever...you must do it!!! In full: I was in two minds about whether I was fit enough to do Hellrunner but had a go and loved every minute of it! There was a real mix of abilities and brilliant atmosphere and comradery. The hills were challenging (and there were lots of them) but plenty of people were walking them so you could take it as easy as you needed to. The lake and bog were pretty cold and smelly but I've just about managed to wash all the mud off. I found it really good not having mile-markers as the time seemed to go really quickly. Parking and getting in and out flowed very well however beware it is very slippy, muddy and pot-holey so if you're a bit precious about your car hitch a lift with someone else! I can't think of any bad points, I just really enjoyed it and will look forward to next year! Thank you race organisers!
In short: A pleasant race, lots of marshals and good crowd support In full: A pleasant run, more undulating than I'd expected but good crowd support and lots of marshalls. It was hot so perhaps could've done with more water stations. Quite pricey to enter and although there was a 'free' hog roast afterwards, had to queue for a v long time and very little food left by the time we got there. Overall, a nice run-thank you. In short: Lovely Scenery! Hills definitely steeper on second lap! Could have done with more crowd support on second lap, particularly last 5 miles. Marshalls very friendly and helpful. Nice medal! I got a PB! Date of review: April 28, 2008
In short: Nice, undulating course. not many people/marshalls on route. Water not ready after 5k mark. A bit tricky at times with traffic but overall only 40 seconds over my PB and sweets and homemade cakes on sale at the end made it all worth it! Date of review: February 24, 2008
