In short: One of the first races on my calendar for the year In full: Enjoyed it despite picking up a twisted knee as I entered the woods. Race is growing every year and is starting to get a bit overcrowded, a victim of its own success but cant fault it. Date of review: June 12, 2014
In short: Perfect way to spend Saturday afternoon In full: My only concern about this is it may be getting too big, we were a bit late getting there because the lanes completely clogged up with traffic. Better signs ??
Heading for the start, its very difficult for a quicker runner to get near the front if late, I spent the first five hundred meters weaving all over the road and hedges.
But I loved it and did a pb despite the hold ups, will be back next year. Date of review: June 13, 2009
In short: Most enjoyable marathon I have ever done In full: Didnt think it was really possible to enjoy a marathon, went round the first lap enjoying the scenery and the day out trying to relax, and it was just as good the second time. There are some testing hills but if your legs are in good shape and have done the training lots of pb potential. Will be back. Date of review: May 11, 2009
In short: Worth getting up for In full: Havent done this before due to the early start time, worth getting up for, lovely scenery. Kept thinking en route that if it was ran backwards it would be downhill with a following wind. Date of review: April 20, 2009
In short: Good testing half marathon, can get good times if you are in shape. In full: Sorry to here that this race could be under threat in future due to problems with the local borough council granting road closures. There is absolutely no problem with safety here.
It is one of the better half marathons despite having quite a long stretch along the A20, the second half more than makes up for this. Date of review: October 22, 2008
