In short: Well organised, very good marshals In full: Horrible weather, but the marshals still managed a cheer and a smile for everyone, good job guys and thanks. Course is undulating with the endless and not exactly scenic underpasses, but Fairlands valley park was really nice with all the leaves turning orange. An enjoyable race. In short: Race was short this year In full: Annoyed that the course was short this year. I got a big PB (and would have still have got a PB if the course had been correct) but can't count it as the course was only 9.9 Km. Compared the gpx file from my Garmin with those of previous year's races, and the turn around point was at the wrong place and 50 m earlier that it has been in the past. Otherwise was a good race, nice cakes, a medal and a nice T-shirt. Date of review: October 7, 2012

In short: Excellent trail race In full: With a route along the Flitch way and through Hatfield Forest, this is a lovely scenic and almost flat course. Well organised and marshalled with plenty to do for kids. Will be back next year. Date of review: September 23, 2012

In short: Challenging but quite scenic route In full: A mix of road and trail, two different loops - first mile not very peaceful as next to the M11 but later on scenic with a pretty bluebell wood. One pretty tough hill that you ran up twice. An enjoyable race, thanks Birchanger PTA!

In short: Nearly 7 miles long, should not be advertised as 10K! In full: First time for this event but there is not much excuse in this day and age for organising a 10K that is actually over 11K. It would be fair enough to use that course, just a) don't tell people it's a 10k and b) have km markers and put a clock next to the 10k point so at least people know when they have done it. It didn't bother me much as I had a garmin and knew at half way it was long but I spoke to several beginners at the end who were devastated about how slow their time was - and cheered up no end when I told them it was 11K! The actual course was pleasant enough and bacon butties at the end was good. Nice medal and a bottle of water too. Date of review: May 16, 2011

In short: A well organised event In full: A good event. Car parking at the stadium became full early on so had to park in the back streets, but that was ok. However, there wasn't a bag drop. This would be a welcome addition next year, as there were loads of bags just left anywhere in the club house. Plenty of loos this year and the track finish was good. It's not a fast course, given the undulations, but a good pre-marathon tester. Date of review: February 28, 2011

In short: GBRC organises a great race again In full: Glad to come back to my favourite HM after a couple of years break. A very well organised race on a fast course -what could be better? Can you switch the wind off next year though please? Date of review: February 6, 2011

In short: An excellent end to 2009 In full: Well organised race as ever, and one of the fastest, flattest 10K courses I have ever run. Thank you to all the great marshalls and the beer at the end was appreciated! Its a shame that only 500 of the 750 entrants showed up, when the race was full back in October. Maybe a number transfer system could be set up, as I know of people who would have liked a place? Date of review: January 1, 2010

In short: A pleasant day out In full: Well organised race, with chip timing - and not being given a white cotton T-shirt as a memento is always a bonus - the maroon rugby shirt was appreciated. Only negative comment is that for the price of the race I would have expected bottled water. Date of review: January 1, 2010

2009 St Neots Riverside Half-Marathon

In short: Excellent organisation In full: Another good race from Riverside Runners, I am not surprised the race sells out in May. Excellent value with a well stocked goody bag and technical long sleeved T-shirt. Undulating rural course with a down hill finish - makes the last few miles fly by. See you next year.
