In short: Great run, PB course, excelent finish area, on the verge of becoming a great race
In full: Had my concerns about the new route but it is fabulous, great pockets of very enthusiastic supporters, excelent facilities at the finish, nice medal, my 68th marathon and the worst race t shirt I have ever had by far, nevr mind something to think about for next year. Finish at Musselburgh race course in front of the grandstand was great. Big thanks to the voulenteers, baggage was a bit frustrating but funny the person that was moaning the most at the baggage around the 3 hr finishers diddent even run, she was picking up a bag for a runner........... remember these helpers are voulenteers and a lot of them are kids, no helpers = no race ! Big thanks to no 341 David Walsh Kemmis and no 288 Ingo Kloever for sharing the wind from 4 to 17, it certainly helped me run 17 mins quicker than London !

In short: Got to get the distance right, running steady at 6:45 per mile then 9:24 from 6 to 7 and 8:47 from 11 to 12 !
In full: Reckon this race was arounf 13.5 miles with it being a out and back race there should be no problem in measuring an accurate distance, hopefully this can be corrected in future as it was well organised with good facilities at the end, free swin mad sauna, but rather strange prize allocation with everything in age categories and no overall prizes.

In short: Great race that would be criminal to see fold, Had a terrible run but the people of Edinburgh were wonderful and a big thank you to all the helpers, marshals and hosepipes in the last few miles
In full: Despite having a mare of a run everything must be done to save this race, the council should look beyond the pounds and think of how much this brings to the city. Yes its expensive but the organisers are trying to break even without a major sponsor, not easy when the road closures cost £120,000 as for the complaints about the expro and collecting your number, the first time I ran London the expro was in a tent at Jubilee gardens, these things take time.

In short: Expro average, toilets and baggage a shambles, good friendly marshalls ok route but the sections of cobbles were a bit much, organisers PR was a disgrace
In full: Potential to be a very good city marathon but a course that is diverted up kerbs and across grass verges to avoid car park entrances is unacceptable. Also the same old story regarding the toilets but how many is enough ?
