In short: Tough Race, but great
In full: This is probably the toughest 10 miler I have done. A cross between Drogo and Dalwood (for those of you that have done those races.
Organisation was excellent, scenery beautiful but the hills were killers. The first few miles were the worse, then it was undulating (very undulating)
Great atmosphere and lovely momento. Wont forget it in a hurry

In short: PB Potential, something a bit different
In full: I entered this race as it visited all major landmarks that I grew up around as a kid, so I traveled from Devon to specifically do this race. Marshalling was great and plenty of water stations. Bit weird running on pavements around people but once you got going it was fine and most people moved over for you. The first half was down hill and flat and because of that the 2nd half knocked me a bit and I ended up slower than I was hoping for. But for me it was a great race. The goody bag was lovely, medal, t shirt, food, pen etc.
Had a great day and I hope they bring the 10k route back as I would like to do that.

In short: Well organised, lots of mud, loved it
In full: This race had been re-scheduled due to the floods in 2012 and I think quite a few could not make the new date as there did not appear to be as many people there.
The route was well marshalled, signposted and it ran like clockwork. The route was challenging in places but there were easier parts to help recover a bit before you hit the really muddy fields. Lovely scenery, great route, would definitely recommend it.

In short: Well organised, nice mix of mud, and road
In full: Lovely atmosphere, and really well organised. The route is definately challenging but not a killer and depending on the weather can be really muddy but great fun. Fantastic marshalls all the way round. Hog roast at the end along with coffee and cakes.

In short: Great organisation, scenic, PB potential, disappointing t-shirt
In full: First half has a slight climb but the 2nd half is as flat as you are likely to get in the south west.
Fantastically organised, bit of congestion in the first mile as runners sort their speed out but no problems what so ever.
They changed where you get your t-shirt from previous time I did it and the queue was horrendous. Just dish them out at the end like normal. Although the t-shirt was one of the most boring I have ever had, real shame :( Nothing on the front!
The only reason I would not do it again is that I find the route too boring and flat.

In short: Well organised, typical mass event
In full: Would only do this one again if I lived on the doorstep. I Found it is not worth travelling any distance for. It made for a long tiring day for what was an average race. Route not overly interesting, far too many people for the roads and the crowning glory was having a mouthful of powerade spat over me for no reason.

In short: Killer start, but fantastic after that.
In full: This was my first time at this event. The hill that you start on (there is a prize for the first to the top)is a very tough hill and its easy to go off too quick and die half way up. After that the course is lovely. Through the forest along tracks and its undulating the rest of the way. The consolation is that the hill you went up to start with is the hill that you fly down to finish. Marshall were great, no way you could get lost and you had a nice bag and drinks bottle as a momento.
The scenery at Sidmouth is just fantastic and the weather was glorious.
Well done Sidmouth running club

In short: 2 races in 1. 10k or 10 mile. Challenging
In full: Done this race a few times, but have to say the 10 mile route is easier than the 10k route. Def challenging, not very steep hills but there are quite a few, but you do get the downs to. Great organisation, nice tech t shirt. Only downside was that the prize giving wasn't until 1.30, so we couldn't hang around.

In short: Nice race, challenging but not suicidal
In full: Well organised, challenging race but do-able. Nice atmosphere but not so many spectators this year in Torquay end. Great Goody bag, nice t-shirt and medal. Could have done with a sponge station but apart from that. Great race.

In short: Nice route, well organised.
In full: Because the race starts at one point and finishes at another, coaches are laid on to take you to the start and then take your bagage back to the finish.
You are tunning on a main road for most of the 7 miles. When this race first started 65 odd years ago this road was obviously not a main road.
However,I found most drivers were very considerate and did not feel vulnerable at all. the route is rolling with one hill at about 6 miles. Steep but doable. It was a very hot morning but fortunately most of the route was in shade.
Nice mug at the end and lots of support. Glad I did it.
