In short: Excellent race
In full: Well done to the organisers, a great race, I was surprised by how much was held off road through parkland which definitely added to the atmosphere. I didn't notice the uphill at the start until a flew down it at the end!

In full: I thought that overall it was a fine day and race, however the few mongaloid brain dead idiots that thought it was OK to urinate in the front garden of the residents near the start will not give a good impression for the run to the locals!!! There were toilets and its not difficult to open a door and then slide the little handle accross. If you do have difficulty with simple tasks maybe you could get a friend to pull your pants down and hold it for you!!!!!

In short: Great race - Just need to fix the entry process
In full: Agree with others about the chaos at baggage drop off and the need to police the start pens, I was still overtaking people who were almost walking at mile 4 (and I was in the right pen!). The finish was very smoothly organised with great take-aways and the atmosphere in the local bars afterwards was fantastic.

In my opinion, the worst thing about the race is the entry process - am I the only one who strongly objects to being forced to answer non-racing-relevant information in order to register?

It was great to see so many locals standing in the rain to cheer us on, after 2 wet years maybe a little sunshine is due for next year?

In short: I'm no Quitter!
In full: This is a lovely race but really hard, my legs still ache! Really friendly and well organised and the marshalls made me laugh on the way round (well splutter at least, not sure I could manage a laugh.) All the other runners were also friendly and encouraging so it was a pleasure to take part. Nice goody bag - and I got a perpetual trophy for the first lady vet in the 10-mile - oh no! looks like I have to come back next year to hand it back (and I am sure I said never again at about 4-miles....)

In short: How can a flat run be so hard!!
In full: First a big thanks to organisers and marshalls plus all the canal boat people with the drinks - much appreciated. I thought it was really well organised and very friendly, a great race. Not sure why many people seemed to have relatively bad times - was it the head-wind, the tunnels, the bridges or just running "off-road" - or is the course long? Anyway that is not a gripe at the race - just an observation that it is hard to get a PB on what would at first glance seem to be a very flat race! Thanks for the showers and thanks for the 2 for 1 beers! yum

In short: Really enjoyable race
In full: I last did this in 2002 and don't know why I stayed away so long! It is a lovely scenic off-road race with great marshalling and great organisation, has a really welcoming family day out feel to it. After finding myself a bit stuck behind slower runners in the first 3K where overtaking is pretty impossible I just relaxed and enjoyed it then zoomed on once it got a bit clearer, probably did not affect the overall pace so much. Great goody bag and nice to see everyone staying around relaxing and enjoying the entertainment at the end. Thanks to all the organisers and marshalls!

In short: Good race, good atmosphere
In full: Enjoyed this race, weather was perfect, course much improved and the organisation was good. I think the finish down the high street makes a memorable finish (it was the one thing I could remember from doing it a few years back!). Felt a bit sorry for the last finishers who were not really sure where they were going at then end though. Need toilets at the finish next time.

In short: Great race & great weather
In full: Thanks to all the organisers, a great race with encouraging marshalls and very well organised. Lovely bag at the (somewhat crowded) finish. Really enjoyed this and the last 5 miles were not as bad as I remembered them so did a course best, knocking 4 mins off. Was a little confusing when and where the prize giving would take place but that is my only niggle.

In short: Relaxed and scenic
In full: Quite a tough race - especially in the heat - 25C! But scenery is super in Sutton Park and no traffic - lots of ups and downs and the shady parts were welcome. Much better route than the Lung Run! I found the marshalls to be all pointing in the right direction and there were plenty of them - maybe they could have shouted a bit more encouragement (I suspect they were not runners so didn't know how much this is appreciated). Whole atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming and it was great to see so many kids enjoying the 4K!

In short: Exceeded expectations
In full: I was expecting long grey dual carriageways, but actually was pleasantly surprised as it mainly kept away from these, meandering around estates and pathway. The section around the lake was very nice. Flat and wide enough to get a PB - which I did.
