In short: A fantastic challenge leaving you with a great sense of achievement In full: The weather this year created the most challenging conditions. The organisation and the facilities were superb. Car parking could have been an issue on Sunday but was sensibly switched to the tarmac area. Although I am a club runner, the support from other club and non club runners was very good, it would be difficult to find a friendlier event. The camaraderie between those who completed all 3 races was superb. Looking forward to 2013. Date of review: June 27, 2012
In short: A fantastic event In full: The organisation of this event just could not be better. From the registration process, bus transfer to the start and the finishing line procedure were all handled calmly without any hitches.
Completion of this course gave great satisfaction, especially as I did a PB. The scenery, once the rain and mist had cleared was superb and as one of the slower runners, to finish in the sun was perfect. Date of review: October 8, 2011
In short: Very well organised race, good chance of a PB In full: The organisation was excellent, from the collection of numbers through to the handing out of water at the end of the race. The opportunity to run on the Silverstone race track was a bonus. Smooth surface and great PB potential. Will be back next year. Date of review: May 10, 2011
In short: Very hot but a real feel good factor to have completed the race. In full: The organisation was much better than last year. The site layout and the other activities to occupy the non running family were good. The lack of chip timing did not bother me as I agree with the idea of saving the cost, but unless I have missed them, manual timings would be useful. This is often carried out at similar size races and should not be above the realms of possiblities.
The race itself was superb, very hot but in recent years we have had cold weather so give me heat any day. A great event, will be back. Date of review: May 23, 2010
In short: Superb scenery and a great challenging course In full: The organisation was faultless. Everyone was friendly, a great credit to the village of Eyam. 1st time at this event and despite the hills and getting absolutely soaked at the end, just might do it again. Date of review: May 18, 2009
In short: Well organised race on a unexpectedly hot October day. In full: Good starting location, once past the start line the crush soon eased. Having read other comments I had no problems with water, bottles are so much better that cups. Goody bag, tee shirt and medal are good, but a banana or energy bar would have been very welcome at the end. Much better organised than 2006. Date of review: October 13, 2008
In short: A very well organised race and an interesting route. In full: An excellent venue, the organisation was superb. The cold wind during the last 2 miles made the finish a very welcome sight. Looking forward to next year. Date of review: March 11, 2008
In short: Well organised race, but why an 11am start? In full: Very hot, but you cannot blame the organisers for that. Very well organised, the marshalls were excellent with their encouragement on what was the hottest day of the year. Another water station at around 4 miles would have been appreciated if only to cool the body. The sports bag was a very good memento. Overall an excellent race, if only the start could be 10.00. In short: Very enjoyable, the hill did not disappoint, plenty of mud. In full: My first 10k at this event. Friendly bunch of runners, good organisation and well marshalled. Difficult to keep on your feet at times, particularly the area around the 'lake'. Will definitely return. Date of review: February 11, 2007
