In short: The people running this need to visit a few well organised big rsces
In full: They make big Race Against Climate Change green claims for this race but in fact it’s the organisers that are a little green. For instance with a 9am Sunday start it is impossible for people to get in from local towns by public transport > very green.
Arriving by car the diversions were fair enough and well signed but absolutely no signs showing how to get to the recommended race parking!
The start was chaotic with no attempt to set the 16000 off in waves and many of the narrow bits throughout the race were” every man for himself” with water bottles on the ground a constant hazard.
All this could have been forgiven on a lovely sunny day but a three minute standing wait to cross the finishing mat made a mockery of chip timing and I’m sure many pbs were completely spoilt.
Come on organisers you have got our addresses; how about a big discount voucher for next year and a promise to sort these shortcomings out.

In short: Numbers
In full: Once in the car park no possibility to get out but race full at least 45 min before start. However with 5 mins to go there were at least 30 uncollected numbers on the table but organisers would not take money for or release them to the few people standing around waiting. So they joined a group of others who had decided to run it anyway.

In short: Surprised no one else commented about the cars. I was put off pace twice.
In full: I think one of the cars I had a problem with was a family trying to get another picture of Mummy running on Mothers Day !

Great race though, one of my favourites.

In short: Well Intentioned
In full: "The marsalls are going to lead you all round the temporary buildings to the start" says the man on the radio mike.
Joined the back on the line and after passing through a narrowish gap was shocked to see people already running !! St John's standing in the middle of the pavement half way round and some confusion in the finish funnel.
All this partly spoilt the good bits (big field, nice people, great tee shirt, nice cakes & free calendar).
Finish funnel wasn't much better

In short: A great summer 10K (& chocolate cake)
In full: Very well done for the club's first 10K. Nice for them that there was a good turn out. I'm sure everybody will be back next year.

In full: Great Bank Holiday race.
Shame that so far (a month after the event) the results don't seem to have been published anywhere online(unlike last year).
