In short: Best organisation I've ever seen at a race
In full: Wow, this was an amazingly organised race. Brilliant facilities at the racecourse (athletes village), well catered aid stations, great medal, technical t-shirt and goody bag and even the race director shaking you hand at the end!!! Surely he didn't stay there for the whole 3000+ runners? I couldn't have hoped for a better run marathon. Relatively flat course with two slight inclines one at 17 miles and one at 24. The one at 24 felt a lot bigger than it actually was (45 feet, according to Garmin). I'll say it again, amazing organisation, thanks.

In short: Ok, there was a problem but...
In full: Yes,there was a problem with the distance, somebody (apparently) erected a scaffolding on a narrow section of the course the night before. So what else could they do but re-route it. It's better than turning up to find it cancelled.

Having said that this course is very fast (even if it had been full distance). I think the markings were not that clear for the time pens at the start or there's a lot of over optimistic people in Cardiff. Colour banding of the race numbers according to predicted finish times like they do in Bristol would have helped. I missed the first few mile markers, but that may have just been me not being observant enough. I would do this course again if I was PB chasing. Entry fee wasn't the highest I've seen for a city race. Two bars in the goody bag - always welcome shame there was no energy drink at the end.

In short: Great race, great atmosphere
In full: Great race, seems to capture the best bits of large races and small races in one medium sized race. Lots of support at the start and finish.

In short: Great race bargain entry fee - all should be like this.
In full: This comment is about the 2008 race, not 2007 as stated about.
Small (107 runners) friendly, mainly club runners event. Very hard climb to the summit then fast challenging descent - great for mountain goats. Well organised and realistically priced.

In short: Enjoyable and challenging but not too challenging
In full: Very enjoyable race, would definately do again. Tough first 10 miles as almost all uphill (not steep just long) with a great fast final 3 miles. Was slightly concerned at how long it took for the medics took to get to the guy that collapsed close to the finish.
