In short: A truly heart-warming event. In full: Thank you for the invitation to report on today’s Liverpool Santa Dash.
I thought the vast majority of people had a most enjoyable day, certainly, we did, and I say we because I jogged around the course and my family were able to drink coffee in a race-side café. The event organisers, the runners, the families and all the supporters had to contend with near Artic conditions as freezing gale force winds whipping up off the River Mersey. There were problems mainly due to there being too many runners and I do appreciate that this was an attempt at a World Record; however, I would strongly suggest future consideration should be given to either limiting the numbers of runners or enhancing the event regulation. That said, I do not want to digress from my foremost judgment of this being a truly heart-warming event and an event ideally suited to the reincarnated or first time runner.
