In short: PB Again! In full: I mainly do fell races, so I had no trouble finding the place, navigating round the course (maps provided for both) and any water-stops at all are LUXURY! Also, I've done quite a few Halfs around the North-West and I don't know of any flatter. I got a PB, and I haven't even trained properly for the last 3 months! LOVE THIS RACE! In short: Hidden Gem In full: Not widely advertised, but due to 200 limit on entries they don't bother cos it always fills up on local knowledge/word of mouth. couple of kms off-road, but not too rough/hilly, rest on fairly flat country lanes, so PB quite possible (indeed I got one!) well organised off the cricket club and nice friendly relaxed atmosphere deffo do this again :o) Date of review: October 22, 2011

In short: Dam Good! In full: Text-book mid-week race: glorious scenery of the Longdendale valley; undulating multi-terrain route (tarmac of various grades, plus paths of various rockiness); two laps of Valehouse reser made for excellent spectating - my family stood on the bottom dam and watched the whole race unfold! accurately measured 5 Miles with mile-markers - although splits would be uneven due to variations in hilliness; lovely memento mug designed by the children of Tintwistle! only problem is, the race looked so good that Lady Slugge immediately bagsied it for next year!

In short: Nail-On PB Course In full: Flat as a pancake, it's PB-tastic mate! Pretty scenic mini-laps/double-backs within Wythenshawe Park, with 700m track to start + 500m to finish. Very good for spectators, with people whizzing by in all directions! Great children's playground plus other park attractions. Easy parking, easy registration, fast production of results (inc. putting online). Only v.minor quibble would be that I'd've preferred cheaper entry and no free T-shirt. Overall Highly Recommended! :o) Date of review: June 1, 2010

In full: Lovely setting with start/finish near Gawsworth Hall; country lanes with v.little traffic, canal towpath, a footbridge to go up/over/down, woodland paths (few tree-roots), more tarmac, and finishing with field-edge run-in Clockwork organisation, only v.small prob was the queue for the loos.
