In short: Good course, great support!
In full: This was my first time for this race and I was surprised how crowded it was. This led to a couple of bottle-necks around the route where the pace slowed to a walk. The route is otherwise undulating, varied and with truly excellent crowd support throughout. My main grouse was poor organisation after the finish - long queues to get the medal and goody bag and it was very difficult to find the meeting point which was not signed and the marshals weren't sure where it was. Very nice T-shirt but I really badly wanted to find a cereal bar in the goody bag.

In short: Pride 10K race just gets better and better!
In full: So friendly, so relaxed and such wonderful fun! This year the steel band and the chip timing were especially nice touches. Great finish area with legendary bagels. Fewer marshals this year but all friendly and you can hardly lose your way! This 10K is a perennial favourite.

In short: Fast, flat and Mo Farah!
In full: This is the third time I've done this race and it is great to have it to look forward to after the marathon. The organisation is first rate and the crowds and support are terrific. I would have liked more access to water at the start (it was a very hot day) but there are plenty of loos, the different starts are well co-ordinated and the support from the crowd on the embankment is almost as good as for the marathon. And to be able to race with Mo and Mara in Olympic year is really special.

In short: The best race I have ever run!
In full: Totally fabulous from start to finish - OK, maybe I say that because I got a PB... Organisation was like clockwork, crowd support was wild - enough to make you cry - wonderful course, wonderful medal. My sole grouse is I think the T-shirts could have been different sizes - and the exit to the meet and greet area got jammed up and needed better marshalling, but these are minor issues on what was for me one of the best days of my life! Thanks++ to Dave Bedford and the VLM team for making this race such a legend.

In short: Fast flat and friendly local race
In full: Pancake flat so great PB potential. Well marshalled, very good water stations and race HQ. Lovely medal and welcome KitKat at the end. Actual finish line is a little indistinct, but otherwise a race well worth travelling for.

In short: A perfect introduction to trail running.
In full: What a great way to start the weekend! A lovely route out on the canal towpath - and actually it was not hard to overtake here in most places - then a stiff climb to a pretty village, followed by an undulating descent through woods back to the canal. Very well sign-posted, delightful marshals and a very warm reception at the finish. Definitely one for the race calendar.

In short: This race is becoming a firm favourite.
In full: It is hard to find anything to fault in this fast friendly 10K. It is well organised, well marshalled, great atmosphere, legendary post-race bagels and a very nice medal and goody bag. Thank you London Frontrunners!

In short: A terrific half-marathon to end the year!
In full: No frills but extremely well organised, superb course, enthusiastic marshals and a really nice rugby shirt for a memento. Definitely a race to add to the calendar.

In short: Small and well-organised 10K in Hyde Park
In full: Cold day, but sunny. Adequate toilet facilities. Very well marshalled, good baggage storage, great course, very nice medal and goody bag. What's not to like? Would definitely recommend this race as a very beginner-friendly event,

In short: This race suffers from being at the mercy of the awful Jubilee line
In full: We ran this race in 2008 and had a terrible time getting there because of the Jubilee Line. Same again this year, so both years the race has been delayed by 45 minutes which means that runners are huddling together like penguins in the chill wind that blows in from the Thames estuary. There are plenty of loos and the baggage facilities are good, but the start pens are awful - it took 30 minutes to get to the start line by which stage I was almost hypothermic. A good course, well-marshalled and a good crowd. As in 2008 there is actually very little music and most of it is not lilve. My main complaint ithough is that there was no goody bag and the sight of hungry runners scrabbling in the lliiter for discarded cereal bars was just awful. I will give this race a miss from now on.
